affect our health?" (300 words)

How does the mobile phone affect our health?

In today’s society, having a mobile phone is essential. It helps us to be in touch with people from all

over the world no matter where we are, it makes our jobs easier to deal with and it provides us with

entertainment most of the time. However, it can really damage our life in matter of hours if it is

overused. That is why we should be aware of the drawbacks of overusing our mobile phones and its

possible influence on our health.

On the one hand, people who tend to be on their phones during the night with their screens too

bright make the brain stop producing a hormone called melatonin, which is necessary for sleep and

it lowers the chances of getting diabetes or cancer. Moreover, it makes it even harder for people to

fall asleep and to wake up.

On the other hand, it also changes people´s mood as it can lead to feeling irritable or depressed.

According to one study made by the West North University, the more time people spend on their

phones especially at night time, the higher the risk of them of getting depressed. Consequently,

people start having problems at work and in their social relationships.

Apart from that, the overuse of mobile phones has a physical manifestation which is shown in our

posture. Looking down at our phones for a long period of time can affect our spine angle since the

muscles of our bodies are making a great effort to hold the head up and in that way our spine gets

damaged.

To conclude, having a mobile phone is not a bad thing. As mentioned before, it helps us in many

ways. Nevertheless, it is important to take into account the risks of using it too much as it can have

a massive impact not only in our behaviour and the way we interact with people in our daily lives but

also in our physical posture.
