INTRODUCTION

On 23/08/2023, a comprehensive Information and Communication Technology (ICT)


training workshop was conducted at TALROP’S Techies Park, Jamia Nadwiyya campus. The
workshop aimed to provide participants with a condensed yet insightful overview of key
ICT concepts and practical skills within 1 day.
Certainly, here are the cone olbjectives of the ICT workshop are:
1. Foundational Understanding: Develop a strong grasp of fundamental ICT concepts and
terminology.
2.Practical Skills: Gain hands-on experience with digital tools and software applications.
3. Data Competence: Understand data management, storage, and basic analysis
techniques.
4. Cybersecurity Awareness: Learn about cybersecurity threats and ethical digital
behaviour
5.Emerging Tech Insights: Explore emerging technologies and their potential
applications.
Session 1: Making of E-Books, Blog & usage of scribd

The first session of the ICT workshop is for familiarizing how to use blogs. E-books and scribd in the field of
education. And also introduced ChatGPT.
Blogs are online platforms where individuals or organizations regularly publisharticles, posts, and updates on
various topics. They offer a dynamic and interactive way to share insights, news, opinions, and expertise with a
global audience.
E-books, short for electronic books, are digital versions of printed books that can be read on electronic devices
such as e-readers, tablets, and smartphones. They have gained immense popularity due to their convenience
and accessibility.
Scribd is an online platform that offers a vast collection of written content, including books, audiobooks,
magazines, and documents. It operates on a subscription model,granting users access to a diverse library of
materials.
ChatGPT is a specific instance of the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) modeldeveloped by OpenAl. It
is designed to facilitate natural language conversations with users. ChatGPT can generate coherent and
contextually relevant responses based on the input provided by the user,
Participants were introduced to innovative strategies for engaging learners andsharing information,
harnessing the power of digital tools to enhance educationalexperiences.
Session 2: What is ICT & Innovation of Technology

Participants were introduced to a range of digital tools and applications commonly used in personal and
professional settings. Topics covered included Open Al (Chatgpt), Midjourney art, Wisecut and Virtual reality.
OpenAl is an artificial intelligence research organization founded in December 2015, its mission is to ensure
that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity. OpenAl is known for its development of
advanced language models like GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) series, which includes models like
GPT-2 and GPT-3.
Midjourney Art is a contemporary art studio and platform that showcases the creative work of emerging and
established artists. With a focus on promoting diverse forms of artistic expression, MidJourney Art serves as
a bridge between artists and art enthusiasts, fostering meaningful connections and appreciation for visual
arts. Wisecut is reimagining video editing by using Al and Voice Recognition to edit videos automatically.
Virtual Reality (VR) is an immersive technology that uses computer-generated environments to simulate real-
world experiences. It transports users into a virtual environment that they can interact with, often through
the use of specialized VR headsets or other devices. By utilizing visual, auditory, and sometimes tactile
stimuli, VR creates a sense of presence, making users feel as if they are physically present within the digital
environment. The facilitators provided practical demonstrations and guided participants through hands-on
exercises to ensure an Interactive learning experience.

The class was from 1.45 pm to 3.45 pm. The session was very informative. Class was mainly about the new
aspects related to information technology. The main topics which was discussed in this session was :-
Innovations of technology Innovation in technology refers to the creation and application of new ideas,
methods, or products that lead to advancements in various fields. It often involves finding more efficient,
effective, or novel ways to solve problems, improve processes, or enhance user experiences using technological
solutions. This can range from breakthroughs in artificial Intelligence and renewable energy to advancements
in healthcare devices and communication tools. Innovation drives progress by pushing the boundaries of
what’s possible and shaping the way we live and work
Chat got and its application:- ChatGPT is a state-of-the-art language model developed by OpenAl. It’s built
upon the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture, which enables it to understand and generate
human- like text.
Virtual reality and its importance – Virtual Reality (VR) is a technology that creates a simulated environment
that users can interact with, often using special headsets or devices. It aims to immerse users in a digital world
that can be similar to or completely different from the real world. VR typically involves visual and auditory
experiences, sometimes combined with haptic feedback (sensations of touch).
CONCLUSION

The ICT training workshop served as a dynamic platform for participants to gain
valuable insights into the realm of information and communication technology. By
condensing essential concepts, practical skills, and cybersecurity awareness into a
concise timeframe, the workshop effectively catered to the participants’ learning
needs. The interactive nature of the sessions fostered engagement and ensured
that participants left the workshop equipped with a foundational understanding of
ICT principles and practical tools. The success of the training underscores the
importance of continued efforts to promote digital literacy and technological
proficiency
