An Unforgettable Experience

by Marissa

This is my first time on a train in my entire life. It was a fine morning

that day. My mother and I were travelling alone. My mother bought the
tickets which was the usual seat which my mother travels. We did not ate
anything for dinner that day. My mother told me to buy some biscuits and a
bottle of soy milk as my dinner. We boarded the train at around 6.00 o’clock
from the Broadway railway station. After reaching my coach, I realised our
seats were situated at the end of the coach, right next to the washroom.
Well, the pantry was not an issue for me, but the washroom …… I was not
feeling happy.

I kept my luggage and looked around. My seat was just next to the
window which I really like as I can watch the beautiful scenery from the
window while riding a train.

I felt so sleepy and I closed my eyes. When I started to fall asleep, I

can feel the breeze on my face. I woke up and tried to shut the windows. To
many attempts made, I could not close it. Then, my mother decided to shut
the window really hard. I was so shocked when the entire window was broken
into pieces. The loud shattering noise broke the silence among the passengers
in the coach.

Fifteen minutes later, a worker from the maintenance department came

into our coach and transfer us to a different coach. We were so relieved as
there were none of us who had any injuries. I think we would think twice for
a train journey in future after this incident.
