ental health is a serious problem that occurs among people. The lack of
attention to this problem causes an increase in mortality rates both among
adolescents and adults. Many people ignore the impact of mental health by
assuming that
people with mental disorders simply lack self-confidence and faith. Even a
part of society will isolate and alienate people with mental disorders on the
grounds that those with mental disorders are no longer needed in society.
Without thinking about the impact that will be very dangerous that will happen to
the sufferer. This problem has been around for centuries but the response of some
people is still the same. Some think that people with mental disorders just lack self-
confidence and think that the people around them are different, thus giving a bad
outlook on life. And some also think that people with mental disorders just lack trust
and faith in their God so they are blessed with things like that (mental disorders).
Mental disorders (Mental health problem) can happen to anyone. Lots of children entering their
teens or even teenagers experience high levels of mental disorders. Most of the teenagers who
experience mental disorders are those who are very stressed by education, family, or even the
surrounding environment. Mental disorder problems can also occur in adults or even the elderly.
There are many causes of this mental disorder, and one of the most difficult to overcome is
genetics.
But this is not a barrier for us to keep embracing each other. Seeing how serious this problem is,
we in group two agreed to raise this theme as a forum for us to convey information and opinions
about mental health.
Best wishes,

WHAT IS MENTAL
HEALTH?
Mental health includes our emotional,
psychological, and social well-being. It affects
how we think, feel, and act. It also helps
determine how we handle stress, relate to others,
and make healthy choices.1 Mental health is
important at every stage of life, from childhood
and adolescence through adulthood.

Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder, formerly referred to as
manic depressive illness, is a mood
disorder with two extremes: depressed
(“low”) and manic (“high”). It varies in
severity, and mild cases may appear
ordinary for many years. Symptoms vary;
a person may be predominantly
depressed, or predominantly manic. In
between episodes, a person is likely to be

You’ve had a long day and you decide to retire
for the night, when suddenly you realize that
you may have left the front door unlocked. You
become anxious and go check if it is locked.
Once you’ve ensured that it’s locked, you relax
and return to bed. This regular anxiety is good
for you as it ensures that you’re alert about
your environment.
Sometimes, however, these thoughts can be
recurring and intrusive. You may go check the
door and ensure that it’s locked but when you
return to bed, you start to worry about it again.
You go check the door again and return to bed
but your worry still remains. These recurring
thoughts, which make you feel anxious all the
time and affect your daily life in the process,
are known as obsessions.
Obsessions can vary; some people are
obsessed with cleanliness and may worry that
their hands are germ-infested even if they
washed them less than a minute ago.
People with OCD experience severe anxiety
and distress. To relieve this anxiety, they
perform some repetitive acts known as
compulsions.
Compulsions offer temporary relief to people
suffering from OCD. In severe cases, the urge
to perform such actions repeatedly can
severely hamper a person’s daily life activities.
When this cyclical occurrence of obsessions
followed by the compulsive behavior begins to
hamper a person's ability to cope with daily
life, it may be a case of OCD.
