MENTAL HEALTH

Good morning everyone I’m Erikamae Funelas, from grade 9 thessalonians and I’m here to discuss
the mental health, so why I choose this topic?

-it is important because it goes hand in hand for our inner being. Growing up , I was bullied and it
affected my mental and physical health and as a woman who had been through a lot I can use it to
empower and inspire the people and remind them that self-love is important to us to be productive.

-Mental health refers to a person's emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It encompasses a
range of factors, including a person's emotional state, their ability to manage stress, relate to others,
make choices, and handle life's challenges. Good mental health is not simply the absence of mental
disorders, but rather a state of well-being in which an individual can realize their own potential,
cope with the normal stresses of life, work productively, and make meaningful contributions to
their community.

Key aspects of mental health

-Emotional Well-being: I dare you not only to take care of your physical health, but making sure
also that you take care of your emotional well-being. What does that mean? Handle what you need
to handle, especially heaviness in your heart, especially shame, guilt, and the things that you don’t
want to feel a day-to-day basis, handle it, release it, let it go, work on it, because I’ll guarantee you, if
you start working on your emotion, things will just flow in your life, because you’re happy, excited,
moving towards where you wanna go, especially towards your goal, and bottom line, why do we
wanna be healthy ? why do we want to be wealthy? Because we want to be happy, and therefore,
take care of your emotional well-being.

-Self-esteem and Self-confidence: do you want to know the number one secret to boost your self
esteem? Number one, you have to stop comparing yourself. When you find yourself, comparing
yourself to another person in a negative way, like I’m not as tall, I’m not as good looking, I don’t
have as much money, I’m not as pretty, it’s just death to who you are, and I want you just to notice
how often you do that and then like wear a little rubber band around your waist just snap it to get
your brain to stop it because it’s never going to help you.

-bIt's important to note that mental health issues can affect anyone, and seeking help when facing
mental health challenges is a sign of strength, not weakness. There are various ways to maintain
and improve mental health, including seeking support from mental health professionals,
maintaining a healthy lifestyle, building a strong support system, and practicing self-care.

-Ano ang mas importante mental health or physical health? For me mental health should come first
kase kapag maganda ang mental health mo aalagaan mo ang sarili mo ma magiging conscious ka sa
mga kinakain mo, sa mga iniinom mo, at sa mga daily activities mo mas maffocus ka sa mga bagay
na nakakabuti sa’yo if you have good mental health uunahin mo ang sarili mo at walang masama
dun we need to build our self first para may maibigay tayo sa iba give 200% to yourself so you can
give 100% to others

-mental health is important because it is a cornerstone of individual well-being, physical health,

relationships, and overall quality of life. Promoting mental health not only benefits individuals but
also has far-reaching positive effects on society as a whole. It's essential to prioritize mental health
and provide support, resources, and awareness to ensure that individuals have the opportunity to
maintain and improve their mental well-being.

here are some examples of mental health states and experiences:

-Social Anxiety Disorder: what is social anxiety? Social anxiety is a fear of being around
others. Predominantly felt that when I’m around others I’m gonna do something
embarrassing or I’m gonna be judged. And an over obsession and distraction by that to the
point where it’s off putting to spend time with others or impacts our functioning around
others.

Prevalence of Mental Health Issues: Mental health issues are

common and affect a significant portion of the population. Issues like
anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders are widespread, and
many individuals and families are impacted. Discussing mental health
helps reduce the stigma and encourages people to seek help.

1. Social Issues: Many social issues, such as addiction,

homelessness, and criminal behavior, have underlying mental
health components. Recognizing and addressing mental health
issues can contribute to the resolution of broader societal
challenges.
2. Children and Youth: Mental health in children and adolescents is
of particular concern. Early intervention and support for mental
health issues in young people can have a profound impact on their
future well-being and success.
