INTRODUCTION
Among the major agricultural products exported from the country is mango (Mangifera

indica). Philippine Islands. The Manila Super Mango variation of the Carabao Mango is

one of the most well-known types in the world, which elevated the nation to sixth place

on the largest mango producer in the world. Carabao mango, also known as Philippine

mango or Manila mango, is a particularly sweet Filipino mango. It is one of the most

important mango varieties grown in the Philippines. This variety is internationally

renowned for its sweetness and exotic flavour.

According to the 2017 agricultural census (USDA-NSS 2018), commercial mango

cultivation in Florida takes place in the southern region of the state, notably in Miami-

Dade, Lee, and Palm Beach Counties, where 2672 acres are set aside for crop. Indian

and Indochinese mangos are the two main varieties grown in Florida (Crane et al.,

2020). Florida's polyembryonic varieties and monoembryonic variants are predominantly

descended from the Indo-Chinese type, respectively (Mossler and Crane 2013). The

typical yield for a mature tree in Florida (5 years or older) ranges from 220 to 330

pounds, depending on the cultivar, planting density, and management treatments used

(Crane et al. 2020). The harvest season in Florida lasts from May through September.

This study's primary goal was to evaluate the profitability and cost estimate

among mango growers in Samal Island. It specifically aimed to answer to the following

questions:

1. What is the common problems of mango growers in terms of:

1.1 Mango PestS,

1.2 Mango Price,

1.3 Harvesting Cost,

2. What are the expenses that affects the profitability and income budgeting among

mango producers in Samal Island in terms of:

2.1 Household Expenses,

2.2 Fertilizers

2.3 Utility Bills,

2.4 Savings

3. What are the determinants that affects the profitability and cost estimate among

mango growers in Samal Island when determined in terms of:

3.1 Capital

3.2 Loan

3.3 Profit

3.4 Loss

METHOD

Discussions of the research design, research respondents, research instrument,

are all included in this part.

Research Design. This study used a quantitative approach, particularly

descriptive, cross-sectional method where the researchers defined and statistically

calculated the profitability and income budgeting among mango producers in Samal

Island. A descriptive approach involved examining people, things, or circumstances to

characterize them. The researchers described the sample or the variables; they do not

alter them. Descriptive studies examined a population's characteristics and point out any

issues that the group may be experiencing (Siedlecki, 2020).

A cross-sectional study was conducted without changing any factors or altering

the environment, examining a sample of participants and illustrating what currently

exists in the population. Cross-sectional studies are distinctive because they allow for

the simultaneous examination of various factors (Simkus, 2021).

Research Instrument. The Depression Anxiety and Stress Scale by

Loviband and Lovibond was developed in the study's questionnaires (1995). Three

separate survey questions were used to carry out the investigation. The questionnaire

added three scores to measure depression, anxiety, and stress.
