NARRATIVE:
One of the aims of this project is to restore the cleanliness and maintaining the
orderliness in the sides of the streets, especially in the main road, from the high
school/elementary school to the Mahayag Market (Purok 3 and Purok 7 to Mahayag
market). I have lived in Mahayag
my entire life, and even so, in
those many years, the amount of
garbage before compared to
now is still the same, if not,
increased. It remained dirty,
trash is still found near the
streets, and the people only
cleaned what they expected to
be in their property. I will not
deny the fact I threw trash
anywhere in my existence (2023,
15 years) because in fact, I did.
There was also a time, a year ago
(2022, 14 years), where I had
participated in a clean-up drive on the streets near the highway, however, I had noticed
that those in smaller roads remain untouched and dirty. This project makes sure that
other routes are cleaned, especially when the smaller road is near an elementary school,
in such, the children may live in a clean environment. Furthermore, the trash that was
not in line with human sight, such as inside bushes and canals, were ensured to be
taken, and would no longer be dormant. Wherefore, as a resident youth/Scout of the
municipality, I proposed the project to our barangay captain that in resolving the issue
that there was a need in conducting clean-up drive to clean the land garbage in the
lurks of the streets, especially in smaller roads and shallow canals with my fellow
Scouts and Scouters to lead as my co-workers, namely: CFES’ Jeira Lindzy A. Adonis,
Marianne E. Lumacang, John Vianny T. Jayme, Neikie M. Dela Cerna, Michael B.
Obnimaga, Drew Daniel C. Reyes, Glendyl E. Balatero, Jamaica A. Sandag, together
with 42 other scouts from Batch Mabalasik. With the guidance of Scout Leader WBH
Mrs. Zannyper C. Saladaga and Mrs. Dailor Cabase, and Eagle Scouts Gynn M. Sarabia,
Lee Adrian Caylan, Dexter A. Egos, Earl Justine S. Navarro, and Rhafel Jay A. Aringa. As
the outcome, and expected development, was the need for clean-up implementation
and for further maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the streets, main road,
and the canals of the routes.
Those who will benefit heavily on this project are
the citizens living near the streets, the drivers, the
students who walk their way home, the teachers,
children and teenagers who go to school, and
future residents who stumble on the same road
for I had envisioned this project to maintain the
cleanliness of the neighbourhood in accordance
to maintaining and keeping respect the Lord’s
wing of comfort.
The implementation of the said project happened to be on January 21, 2023 on 0800H.
In concerns regarding the waste obtained, it was
delivered to the dumpsite as what the Barangay
Captain had further discussed, with the
biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste being
separated. The cleanliness of the area and streets
should be maintained in relation to the
strengthening of this project.
