A Plea for Financial Assistance!

I am a fourth year General Psychology major, attached to the University of the Southern
Caribbean, Guyana Extension Site. It has currently been very difficult for my mother and I,
financially. Although I am a Secondary School Teacher attached to the Berbice High School, I
have been responsible for taking care of my mother, expenses and tuition with the meagre salary.
However, I am still grateful for the salary earned as it helps to pay the bills and tuition the best
way I could. It has been quite expensive to travel to work from the village where I reside to the
town in Berbice because of the increased gas prices. Moreover, I am responsible for providing
the home with food stuff monthly (despite being unable to purchase certain items due to the
increase in prices), and pay utility bills. I have had to try the best way I could to make ends meet
for my mother and I. Also, I tried to save monies in the bank with the hopes of gaining some
interests, but I was unable to do so. Again, I must express my gratitude for helping me in my
third year with a scholarship which helped me to proceed to the final lap. Thank you.

Recently, another loan was taken to purchase a brand-new lap top as the previous one purchased
began to malfunction. It was brought to my attention that parts were removed and replaced with
old ones, so the other option was to purchase a cheaper lap top. Therefore, I had to take the
present loan to merge it with the existing one. Now, I have to pay $31,000 every month until
2024. Besides, I have to pay $10, 500 every month in data as my internet often malfunctions. I
had to do so to attend my classes which are mainly online. It is my hope to break generational
curses and to obtain a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology to make a difference in the
lives of many. I can assure you that this is only the second stage in my career path, as I had to
sacrifice a lot to obtain an Associate Degree in Education. Moreover, my goal is to complete my
degree next year to pursue my Masters in Counselling Psychology. Furthermore, I have been
quite anxious lately about tuition and this opportunity will help me to stay focused on the course
towards the finish line. Kindly assist me in continuing my educational pursuit this semester. I
would be eternally grateful for your response and assistance on this matter.
