2.5 Conclusion
Based on the analysis of pad eye, the conclusions are :
3.5.1 The pad eye capacity is 30.11 kN which is the smallest strength of pad eye geometry calculation,
pad eye strengths and welding strength.

3.5.2 The maximum of hot spot stress, σ max is 39.33 MPa at its design load. Based on this result, we
calculate the Safety Factor, SF as follows,

SF = σmax / Fy = 205 MPa / 39.33 MPa = 5.21 …..OK

3.5.2 The Pad Eye is safe for its intended purpose provided that the material and welding are free from
defect.

1. 1. INTRODUCTION

This document presents a lifting arrangement of Powerpack, lifting lug analysis including an engineering
calculation of the lifting lug as well as its general lifting procedure. The engineering calculations were done in
accordance with DNV 2.7-1, AISC 13th ASD Manual ASME BTH-1 2008. A finite Element Method (FEM) using to
ensure all the internal stress are and deflection meets the standard. SolidWork2013 software was also conducted
to ensure all the internal stress are and deflection meets the standard.

The pad eye analysis is only for rig's pad eyes. Analysis of spreader's pad eyes is provided in lifting lug analysis of
spreader associated.

2.5. Conclusion

Based on the analysis of pad eye, the conclusions are :

1. The pad eye capacity is 7.86 kN which is the smallest strength of pad eye geometry calculation,
pad eye strengths and welding strength.
2.The maximum of hot spot stress, σmax is 11.89 MPa at its design load. Based on this result, we
calculate the Safety Factor, SF as follows,
SF = σmax/Fy = 205 MPa / 11.89 MPa = 17.24 ….OK
3. The Water Pump pad eye is safe for its intended purpose provided that the material
and welding are free from defect.

This document presents a lifting arrangement of SPREADER BEAM FOR TH3#1 LAND RIG, lifting lug analysis including
an engineering calculation of the lifting lug as well as its general lifting procedure. The engineering calculations were
done in accordance with DNV 2.7-1, AISC 13th ASD Manual ASME BTH-1 2008. A finite Element Method (FEM) using
to ensure all the internal stress are and deflection meets the standard. SolidWork2013 software was also conducted
to ensure all the internal stress are and deflection meets the standard.

The pad eye analysis is only for rig's pad eyes. Analysis of spreader's pad eyes is provided in lifting lug analysis of
spreader associated.
