1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND

In order to align with Government aspirations to increase supply of Domestic gas

(DOMGAS) to local industries and power plants, SPDC embarked on a number of short
term and medium term projects; Bonny AG Solution is categorized as one of the
medium term projects.

Bonny Fields are located in SPDC‟s OML-11, about 40km southeast of Port-Harcourt.
29 wells (22 Oil and 7 Gas) have been drilled to date. Production started in 1973 and
achieved a peak oil production of 34.3Mbopd in 1975.

Bonny Flowstation which takes wet gas from Oloma to Bonny Terminal Fuel Gas plant
is a 2 bank flowstation with 2 HP and LP separators and 1 surge vessel, which has the
capacity to handle 30Mbopd.

The Delivery line from Bonny Flowstation to the Tie-in Manifold (TNP) is an 8” line with
approximate length of 120m. It is designated to handle a capacity of 42Mbopd.

1.2 OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this document is to provide sizing calculations for the equipment within
Bonny AG Solution.

2 METHODOLOGY

2.1 AG COMPRESSION VESSEL CALCULATION

The scrubbers were sized using API 11P and GPSA standards as a basis. The
maximum flow case of 5.041MMSCFD was used. The scrubber ID and seam to seam
dimensions are calculated based on the maximum allowable gas velocity. the main input
and data are presented in attachment 1.

2.1.1 FIRST STAGE SUCTION SCRUBBER (V-2701)

The first stage suction scrubber (V-2701) was sized based on Ref 1 and the
dimensions specified by Sulzer Chemtech to allow for the Shell SMS internals as well
as to maintain the appropriate pressure drop through the scrubber.

2.1.2 SECOND STAGE SUCTION SCRUBBER (V-2702)

The second stage suction scrubber (V-2702) was sized based on Ref 1 and a K-factor
of 0.25 was specified.

2.1.3 THIRD STAGE SUCTION SCRUBBER (V-2703)

The third stage suction scrubber (V-2703) was sized based on Ref 1 and a K-factor of
0.25 was specified.

2.1.4 FOURTH STAGE SUCTION SCRUBBER (V-2704)

The fourth stage suction scrubber (V-2704) was sized based on Ref 1 and a K-factor of
0.25 was specified.

2.1.5 DISCHARGE SCRUBBER (V-2705)

The discharge scrubber (V-2705) was sized based on Ref 1 and a K-factor of 0.25 was
specified.

2.2 FUEL GAS KO VESSEL (V-2705)

The fuel gas KO Vessel (V-4501) was sized according to Ref 2 as a vertical wiremesh
vessel with Half Open Pipe internal.

A design margin of 20% was specified to account for surging and uncertainties in the
basic data.

MAINTENANCE OF GAS HANDLING FACILITIES FOR DOMGAS PROJECT
Title: BONNY EQUIPMENT CALCULATION REPORT
Shell Doc. No.: SDA -S17893- BNYC1-PX-1206-00001-C01 Page 8 of 14

The main input data and results are presented in attachment 2.

2.3 FLARE STACK CALCULATION

The Flare Stack (F-4301) was sized according to Ref 3. The input data for the
calculation was got from the hysys simulation. The estimated distance from the grade
level to flare is 60m.

The main input data and results are presented in attachment 3.

2.4 DRY AIR RECEIVER CALCULATION

The dry air receiver (V-4602) is sized base on peak air demand for the control valves,
shutdown valves and start-up requirements as shown in attachment 5.

A margin of 20% is specified to account for distribution leakage and drier regeneration.

The input data and results are presented in attachment 4.
