You will attend a meditation session. Once you have reviewed the lesson and participated in
the meditation session you will complete the following tasks.

TASK 1: ATTEND THE SESSION

ATTEND the meditation session. The date and time will be provided to you by your teacher.
The session is small in size, so only 15-20 students can attend a given session.

TASK 2: DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEDITATION

RESEARCH & IDENTIFY the different types of meditation.

Briefly DESCRIBE at least 6 different types of meditation. The following websites may be

APPLICATIONS one for mindfulness exists in health fields. Psychotherapy is a psychological


method of therapy that can help with a broad variety of mental illnesses and difficulties. It is
often referred to as “talk therapy”. In this therapy, you often work closely with a psychiatrist,
psychologist or other mental health applications.

WHAT MUST BE INCLUDED?

• Your presentation must use proper academic sources. So make sure to include an APA
FORMATTED reference page.

• Your presentation must go beyond information from the research paper. This means
you will be the EXPERT on this form of therapy for our class. Make sure to define any
keywords which may not be familiar to your classmates or your teacher.

• Your presentation must:


o Describe the therapy/technique;
o Provide background and “must-know” information about the given therapy.
o Describe who the therapy would be for;
o Identify/describe the potential benefits of the therapy. What are its’ limitations?

• The LENGTH of your presentation should be between 3-5 minutes.

FORMAT: Any format could be used as long as engaging and allows for visuals. You could
create a slide presentation with speaker notes; a documentary; a magazine article, etc.
