Light

Light:
Light is a form of energy. It is a form of electromagnetic
radiation. Objects that emit light are said to be luminous while
those that do not emit light is known as non-luminous. Non
Luminous objects only reflect light while on the other hand
luminous objects produce light.
Examples:
Non-Luminous objects- Moon, Table, Chair etc.
Luminous Objects-LED Gaming Keyboard, Light Bulb, Sun
etc.
(Sun is the main source of light in nature)
Shadows:
When light shines over an opaque object the light rays which
reach the object stops and the light rays that goes around the
object continue on their path. A region without light is called
as a shadow. It forms behind the object. The shape of the
shadow may not be identical to the shape of the object
because the shadow shape depends on the position of the light
source.

Speed of light:
As many may know light is really fast, but how fast is the
question. Well the answer for that is really huge so scientist
have made our life easier by making it shorter. It travels in a
speed of 3*108m/s and if you don’t understand what that is the
speed of light is approximately 300000000m/s. Yes that is
eight zeroes. Shocking thing is that light can travel this fast
both in vacuum and air. Maybe in air a little less fast.

Did You Know?

Light can travel through vacuum but can sound travel through
vacuum? Sound cannot travel through vacuum because sound
is basically vibrations in the air or it is the movement of
molecules in the air. Vacuum means an empty area. Without
air we cannot hear some other person talking. It is crazy to
think about it.
