My grandparents’ names on my Father’s side on him are Clarita L. Bondoc and Nolasco M. Bondoc.
“Clarita” means “Bright or Famous” in Spanish, she was named “Clarita” because she brings light to her
family, and “Nolasco” means “One Who departs or Forgets About”, there is no exact meaning why he is
named to his name right now, but he really lived his name for he already died, leaving a great legacy in
our community here. The usual tradition that they have in naming their kids; is starting with the first
letter of their names in the letter “N” to honor their father, the only exception was my auntie for her
name started with the letter “J”.

On my mother’s side, the names of my grandparents to her are Norma C. Yamat and Jose C. Yamat.
“Norma” means “Normal” and “Jose” means “Raised or Who Pardons”. I really don’t know what is the
reason why my grandma was named in her name. but my grandpa was named “Jose” because, during
the time of his birth, people are celebrating a fiesta in San. Jose in San. Fernando, so He was named after
the saint. The usual tradition that they have in naming their kids; is starting with the first letter of their
names in the letter “A”.

Now on my parents’ side, my parents names are Analyn Y. Bondoc and Nolando L. Bondoc. “Analyn”
means “Heart Desires” and “Nolando” means “A gift of Gab”. As I said, they are named because it’s
their parents’ tradition to name their kids in their kids in their favorite letters. My parents’ tradition of
naming us is the same, they named me and my older brother starting with the letter “G” to honor my
great grandfather, his name is “Geronimo”, the only exception was my sister for she was named starting
with the letter “B” for my auntie named her.

My siblings’ names are, Gary Mart Y. Bondoc and Bianca Beatriz Y. Bondoc. Let us start with my older
brother, “Gary” means “spear” and “Mart” means “Warlike” He really lived by His name for he is a born
fighter, he had gone through so many trials, but he achieved his dream to finish his studies. Now to our
younger sister, her name is “Bianca” which means “Pure or White” and “Beatriz” means “Brings Joy”, as
I said a while ago she was named by our auntie, she was named her name because of aesthetic reasons.

Now to my name, I am Geron Paul Y. Bondoc, “Geron” means “Guard or Guardian” and “Paul” means
“Humble/ Apostle Paul”, I was named after my great grandfather “Geronimo”, I actually really lived the
meaning of my name, for I am a Pastor now who guards and teach the word of God just like Apostle
Paul.

My name really established my Identity, when they say or call my name, the first thing that comes to
their mind is my character and my occupation. A Name leaves a legacy, so it is important to take care of
our names, for people will remember what legacies you leave when you die to your name.
