- Status quo: teenagers don't spend too much time on working out
→ increase the risk of health problems (obesity, heart disease),
make you become inactive
- Should: hit the gym, walking, biking

With the presence of gadgets and social media, teenagers are


more likely to favor online platforms over exercise. Physical
inactivity puts people at risk of numerous illnesses such as heart
disease, obesity, you name it. As a matter of fact, we should hit
the gym or play sports on a regular basis to build up our strength
and muscle and keep our body in shape. When I have no errands
to run, I often go for the idea of biking as a rewarding way to
refresh my mind and improve my well-being.

2. Screen time
Nowadays, teenagers spend too much time on social media
which leads to a waste of time

+ Smartphones negatively affect health. To be more


specific, using phones regularly reduces the ability to
concentrate, and has a negative effect on the eyes and brain

+ Not good for sleep


Using an LCD screen can upset the natural sleep cycle as the
blue light reduces the production of sleep-inducing
hormones.

+ Makes users stressed


Spending too much time on various websites is directly related to
depression and other mental problems.

→ So we should manage time for using the phone, spend


more time on outside activities that go a long way towards our
well-being.

3. Sleep enough
Getting enough sleep is one of the ways to improve our
health. Getting enough sleep will improve your mood, increase
your longevity and enhance your memory. If you don’t sleep
enough, you will fall asleep and be in a bad mood that has a
negative effect on your academic performance. Therefore, what
you should do is to remove your computers, smartphones,
avoid caffeine before bedtime, stick to a sleep schedule

4. Manage your emotions


It’s important to understand your feelings and emotions.
BECAUSE negative feelings make you feel exhausted, they
will be common reasons for a lack of motivation to tackle your
tasks.
So there are many ways to manage your emotions

We can use healthy relationships to manage emotions by asking a


friend or relative to confide in us, so we usually feel better after
expressing them to them.

To be more specific, the idea of accepting your own emotions


makes you more satisfied with life.

Another way to manage emotions more effectively is jotting down a


few notes about your feelings. Writing your feelings down on paper
helps you reflect on them more deeply. It also helps you see when
things like problems at work make it hard to control your emotions.

Another way to manage emotions more effectively is walking


and meditation.

5. Eat healthy food

Fast food is a popular and convenient option for quick meals.


Young people often consume too much junk food which is
high in fat, calories, and low in nutrients. Fast food
consumption on a regular basis can lead to serious
syndromes like obesity, heart disease.
Besides, teenagers also have a habit of eating processed,
high-calorie food late at night due to the hectic schedule or other
factors in their life.

Nighttime eating can trigger weight gain and disrupt the


quality of sleep.

As a matter of fact, following a well-balanced diet in the right


proportions
with a lot of fruits, vegetables,
drinking water and limiting processed food are the ideal ways
that do wonders for your health.
