Introduction

Nowadays, Disaster has become more and more prevalent. According to World Meteorological Organization

(2021), In Asia alone, 3,454 disaster occurred from 1970-2019 and also with 975,622 lives were lost in those

disaster occurrences. In addition to that, an approximation of US$ 1.2 trillion were reported as economic damage.

In Philippines, According to Lloyd et al. (2022), a number of 304 disasters have occurred in the Philippines from

2000 to 2019 and affecting an average of 7796 people per 100,000 population. It shows that disasters have been

affecting not just the Asia but also in the Philippines. This research aims to determine the relationship between

demographic profile and the disaster preparedness of the residents of Brgy. Tamlangon, Matanao Davao Del Sur.
Research Objectives

This study aims to determine the relationship between the demographic profile of the respondents and the disaster
preparedness of the residents of Brgy. Tamlangon, Matanao Davao Del Sur. It specifically aimed to answer the
following objectives:

1. To assess the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:

1.1 Age

1.2 Civil Status

1.3 Years of Residency

2. To assess the level of disaster preparedness of the respondents in terms of:

2.1 Disaster knowledge

2.2 Disaster Preparedness and Readiness

2.3 Disaster Adaptation

2.4 Disaster Awareness

2.5 Disaster Risk Perception
