Safety, Health and Environment
for Construction Workers covers:
- health and safety issues to be
managed in the construction
industry to protect employees,
contractors, neighbours and others
- the basics of local law
- the importance of risk assessments
and method statements and
the development process.
- site requirements for the welfare
of construction workers on site
- hazards and controls associated
with construction sites and
activities including working at
height and confined spaces
- site environmental management
including management of
waste and ecology.
Delegates will be able to demonstrate
understanding of the course syllabus
by taking an end-of-course exam.
On successful completion of the exam,
delegates will receive an IOSH certificate.
Criteria
To be eligible to deliver the course,
trainers must:
- have two years’ construction
experience OR a level 3 sector
specific qualification
- be a Technical member of IOSH
- have up-to-date CPD
- have an adult training qualification
at level 3 on a regulated qualifications
framework OR have successfully
completed the IOSH Train the
Trainer course
- have two years’ substantial
face-to-face training experience.
