WORSHIPED GOD RIGHT WAY

The New Testament teaches early Christians how to worship him wisely and righteously. Essentially, this
means loving and caring for his creation through our actions.

 The Pagans Worship God in Ignorance (Jeremiah 10: 1- 11)

- They Had an Altar to an unknown God
Jeremiah 10: 1- 11 10 Mga anak ni Israel, pakinggan ninyo ang ipinapasabi ni Yahweh. 2 Ang sabi niya,
“Huwag ninyong tutularan ang ginagawa ng ibang mga bansa; o mabahala sa nakikitang mga tanda sa
kalangitan, na labis nilang kinatatakutan. 3 Ang dinidiyos nila'y hindi maaasahan. Isang punongkahoy na
pinutol sa gubat, inanyuan ng mga dalubhasang kamay, 4 at pinalamutian ng ginto at pilak. Idinikit at
pinakuan upang hindi mabuwal. 5 Ang mga diyus-diyosang ito'y tulad sa panakot ng ibon sa gitna ng
bukid, hindi nakakapagsalita; pinapasan pa sila sapagkat hindi nakakalakad. Huwag kayong matakot sa
kanila sapagkat hindi sila makakagawa ng masama, at wala ring magagawang mabuti.” 6 Wala nang ibang
tulad mo, O Yahweh; ikaw ay makapangyarihan, walang kasindakila ang iyong pangalan.7 Sino ang hindi
matatakot sa iyo, ikaw na Hari ng lahat ng bansa? Karapat-dapat lamang na ikaw ay katakutan. Kahit na
piliin ang lahat ng matatalino mula sa lahat ng bansa at mga kaharian, wala pa ring makakatulad sa
iyo.8 Silang lahat ay pawang hangal at mangmang. Ano ang maituturo sa kanila ng mga diyus-diyosang
kahoy? 9 Ang kanilang diyus-diyosa'y binalutan ng pilak na galing sa Tarsis, at ng gintong mula sa Upaz,
ginawang lahat ng mahuhusay na kamay;
pagkatapos ay binihisan ng kulay ube at pula na hinabi naman ng manghahabing sanay.

Ngunit ikaw, Yahweh, ang tunay na Diyos, ikaw ang Diyos na buháy, at ang Haring walang hanggan.
Nayayanig ang daigdig kapag ikaw ay nagagalit, at walang bansang makakatagal sa tindi ng iyong poot.

Sabihin ninyo sa mga diyus-diyosan: ang sinumang hindi makalikha ng langit at lupa ay dudurugin at
lubusang mawawala sa ibabaw ng daigdig.
o John 4:24 “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

They would need to repent of their ignorance in worship

1. God Who Made the World
o John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing
was made that was made.
He is incorruptible, omnipotent and omniscient. His existence is beyond the physical world we can see
and touch. We were created in God's image and have the same divine attributes as other divine creatures
through Jesus.
2. God Is Going to Judge the World
God overlooked the ignorance of the past.
o “Truly these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to
repent, (Acts 17:30)

 Why you need to repent.

 “God has appointed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness… (Hebrew 9:27
-Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,)
 How do you know this is going to happen?
 “… He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead
3. Do Not Shrink from Responsibility

 Study/Work (“Everyone is Busy – Everyone is Tired anyway) – But always have time to God!
Pray Continually!!
Be committed to the local church
 Don’t look to others focus on You and GOD! (Never ever say, I do this, I do that while others
don’t) DO IT FOR THE LORD!!!

 Assemble & Worship (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Hebrews 10:24-25
“24 Sikapin din nating gisingin ang damdamin ng bawat isa sa pagmamahal sa kapwa at
sa paggawa ng mabuti. 25 Huwag nating kaliligtaan ang pagdalo sa ating mga pagtitipon, gaya ng
nakasanayan ng iba. Sa halip, palakasin natin ang loob ng isa't isa, lalo na ngayong nakikita
nating malapit na ang Araw ng Panginoon.”

 Work as a unified body. The commitment of ALL body members is necessary

 Christian worshippers focused on praising God while meditating on biblical passages or
singing hymns. Over time, churches-built structures where services could occur year-round.
4. Those Who Worshiped God right way
Genesis 4:1-7

 Cain did it his way

 Abel did it God’s way

Hebrews 11:4
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness
that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
 Paul said to the Corinthians,
1 Corinthians 11:30
“For this reason, many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep”
They were careless in worship... maybe he hit them there because this where we fall asleep the most in.
Not physically but spiritually… look at all the churches around us today who are not just asleep but in a
coma!

Let us not sleep as does the world. 1 Thess. 5:6-8.

God's people are to be sober and vigilant at all times. 1 Pet. 1:13; 4:7; 5:8-9
