All praise and thanks be to Allah SWT, who has bestowed his mercy and taufik on us all.
So that the compiler can make this report and feel aware that there are still many shortcomings
that must be corrected in carrying out the Field Work Practice Report activities.

However, the authors have made every effort to perfect the preparation of this report,
both from the results of teaching and learning activities in schools, as well as in carrying out
practical work activities in the industrial world. Constructive suggestions and criticisms are
highly expected by the authors for the sake of perfection in writing the next report.

CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

A. Purpose of Field Work Practice

The objectives of the Field Work Practice are as follows:

a. General purpose

Professional expertise is the mainstay to determine the superiority of the


professional expertise of the workforce and those involved in it. The production process
in Indonesia requires skilled and professional workers to deal with today's global
economic developments.

So starting from 1994 in Indonesia, an Apprenticeship system was carried out


which aims to complement and complement school education with productive skills
obtained through Industrial Work Practice activities, so that PKL activities become one of
the effective educational capital.

b. Special purpose

1. Improving the efficiency of the education process and training of qualified and

professional workforce.

2. Provide recognition and appreciation of work experience as part of the educational

process.

3. Produce workers who have professional skills with a level of knowledge and work

ethic that is in accordance with the demands of the job market.

4. Strengthening the link and match between the world of education and the world of

work.

5. Broaden the views and insights of students towards the types of work

6. in the related field and in the place of practice with all requirements

7. To realize the knowledge gained from school with actual work in the company.

8. Prepare students to be able to apply their abilities, be highly competent, and

develop themselves.
B. Benefits of Field Work Practice

With this Industrial Work Practice activity, it provides good benefits for students of SMK
Negeri 2 Buduran and other SMKs. There are several points of benefit that the authors get after
carrying out the Field Work Practice activities, including the following:

a. Students gain competencies that they do not acquire in school.

b. Students can contribute to the workforce in the office or industry they are placed in.

c. Provide motivation and improve work ethic for students.

d. Strengthening school relations with institutional or industrial partners

e. As a promotional medium for SMK alumni.

C. Company Profile

Artvibes Studio Photo and Videography is a production house in the field of visual arts
located on Jalan Sulaiman 2 RT 07 RW02 Banjarsari, Buduran, Sidoarjo. Artvibes Studio is
engaged in services including photography, graphic design, and videography for the needs of
capturing all forms of moments such as videography and cinematography for company profiles,
pre-wedding events, sweet seventeen: short movies, advertising, etc.
CHAPTER II

PROCESS AND LEARNING OUTCOMES IN DU/DI

A. Photography/Videography and Graphic Design

Artvibes Studio has 1 photoshoot studio for shooting which is located in Gempol 9
Avenue, Mojorejo, Kec. Gempol, Pasuruan, East Java 67155. The room is approximately 7
square meters. Inside there are quite complete photographic equipment, such as background rolls
with various colors, lighting, softbox, triggers, photo properties, cameras, and lenses and several
sizes. and share views of other photography concepts. In addition, Artvibes Studio also has a
workspace located on Jalan Sulaiman 2 RT 07 RW02 Banjarsari, Buduran, Sidoarjo.

At Artvibes Studio I have experience in photography/videography and graphic design.


The task of a photographer/videographer at Artvibes Studio is to understand how to take
pictures/shoot scenes, framing, light, color, and create artistic take shots in a photo studio. For
tasks in the field of graphic design, namely making designs from elements of art, visuals and
language in an interest in certain categories such as making IG feeds/content. During the 3-
month internship period, I gained quite a lot of knowledge of photography/videography and
graphic design. Among them:

1. Operate types of cameras and photographic aids such as; lighting tools, as well as

adjusting the lighting in taking pictures.

2. Taking the right arrangement and composition so that it contains a high aesthetic value in

taking scenes/shoots in videography techniques

3. Take pictures with human objects and objects with several techniques. Such as model

photos and product photos.

4. Using bitmab image processing software to manipulate raster images using the effects

feature so as to create digital photographic artwork

5. Taking pictures is not only indoor but also outdoor, such as taking pictures in the type of

photo documentation of activities

6. Can make visualization designs in the field of visual arts and apply aesthetics in the form

of vectors, posters, and visual magazines.


7. Creating content related to advertising and promotion by managing graphic elements,

elements and images in an editing software

8. Operate the tool features found in graphic design software and apply it to object creation

with individual creative ideas

9. Aligning the concepts of timing, visual correlation, sound and music contained in the

videography section/when taking a scene.

B. Editing

For software used during the Field Work Practice period, including:

a. Adobe Photoshop or usually referred to as Photoshop is an image editor software made


by Adobe Systems which is devoted to photo or image editing and creating effects. The
main function of Adobe Photoshop is only for photo editing applications or images with
raster or bitmap type. However, as an image editing application, Photoshop's functions
can be described more specifically, namely to beautify images, manipulate images, and
create graphic image designs. In addition to image editing, this software also provides
various features for graphic purposes which may be at a not too high level. Like to make
posters and banners.
b. Adobe Lightroom is an image manipulation software developed by Adobe Systems
which is oriented towards the concept of photo editing/ image organizer. This software
also functions as batch editing, photo management, high resolution photo editing,
creating photo galleries and cleaning objects in images.
c. Adobe Illustrator is a leading vector graphics editing program, developed and marketed
by Adobe Systems. This software has the function of creating any aspect of the
illustration, such as logos, icons, etc.
d. Sony Vegas Pro 13 is a special software for video and audio editing. The function of this
software is to be able to manage scene clips / image clips, add sound effects, professional
compositions. This software can also create 3D effects and the available features have a
simple and pragmatic way of working, so you can easily manage them.
CHAPTER III

IMPLEMENTATION OF FIELD WORK PRACTICES

A. Time and Place for Industrial Work Practices


The time to carry out Prakerin starts from April 01, 2021 to June 26, 2021. The
Artvibes Studio Industrial work practice starts at 08.00-16.00 in the Artvibes workspace.
Every Friday is a holiday, one week is five days. And if there are red dates or holidays, they
are also closed.

B. Acquired Competence
In the internship process at Artvibes, students get several parts of work, including:
Editing Program, and photoshoot. Each work section is taught several techniques such as the
following:
1. Photo editing using Photoshop
2. lighting lighting
3. Product photo techniques
4. Object arrangement
5. Photography technique

C. Description of the Implementation of Field Work Practices


On the first day, students are introduced to a place or location on Artvibes first.
Students are shown parts of the Artvibes workspace that will be used during the internship.
And also students are taught the basics of the use of photography, the use of background
composition and properties. In addition, in the next few days, they will be taught design,
tiktok videos, cinematic product advertisements. Usually done in stages from the level of
difficulty.

CLOSING
A. Conclusion
Thus this Field Work Practice (PKL) report is made, as a form of written evidence
that, the compiler has followed the Field Work Practice (PKL) for 3 months at Artvibes
Studio. During the PKL activities, the compilers and other students get very valuable
experience in the form of provisions to enter the world of work after graduating from
SMK. At the time of street vendors students also receive lessons in the form of tenacity,
creativity, patience, honesty, discipline, responsibility for the work they do.
B. Suggest
Based on these conclusions, the suggestions that I can give to Artvibes and
SMKN 2 Buduran are with the intention of the possibility that the results of this analysis
can be used as material for consideration and evaluation for DI/DU and schools. The
suggestions that I can give are as follows:
 The material for the PKL activity journal is adjusted to the PKL place.
 Better cooperation and communication be improved.
