Ponder on this We have arrived at the culmination of our GEC103 – The


Contemporary World class, marking the completion of our academic
journey together.

In order to conclude this course on a meaningful note, we have


arranged for a final presentation where you will have the opportunity
to showcase your acquired knowledge through a video presentation
encompassing various media elements such as video clips,
photographs, songs, and textual content.

The duration of your video presentation should be no less than three


(3) minutes and no more than five (5) minutes.

This presentation will serve as a reflection of your understanding


and engagement with the course material, as well as a testament to
your creative abilities in conveying your learnings. You are
encouraged to approach this task with enthusiasm and innovation,
aiming to captivate and engage your audience.

Instructions Remember, this video presentation serves as a culmination of your


learnings and provides a platform for you to demonstrate your
understanding of the contemporary world. Embrace this opportunity
to showcase your creativity, critical thinking, and communication
skills. We look forward to witnessing your impressive presentations.

1. Content ● You have selected (through drawing lots) the theme or


Presentation specific aspect of your contemporary world problem.

● Select key concepts, ideas, or events from the course that are
relevant to your chosen theme. You may choose to localise it
to one phenomenon or concept or have it as a combination of
multiple concepts or phenomena.

● Organise your content in a coherent and logical manner,


ensuring a smooth flow of information.

2. Media Elements ● You are permitted to incorporate a variety of media elements


which includes, but is not limited to, video clips,
photographs, songs, posted online or found elsewhere, and
textual content found in reference books or online websites.

● Ensure that the selected media aligns with the theme and
enhances the overall narrative of your presentation.

● You may choose to interview an informant in relation to your


theme provided that the informant is pertinent to your
group’s video theme. Likewise, make sure to ask for consent
in (a) conducting the interview, and (b) getting film and
audio recordings of the interview.

● Otherwise, you may also opt to have your own members be


the ones to act out the scene.

● Properly cite and credit any external sources used in your


video. If caught or proven that the group has not cited or
credited the external source in your video, your group’s
output shall automatically be null graded (0 points).

3. Structure and ● Begin your video presentation with an engaging introduction

● Maintain a balanced pace throughout the presentation,


allowing for clarity and comprehension.

on the significance of addressing the issue in the
contemporary world.

● Of course, those stated above are conventional forms of


video presentation, you are given full discretion to rearrange
or be more creative in your video so long as the main idea or
thesis of your video is clearly presented.

● There are no restrictions on the language use of the video,


granted that the audience viewing and the panel reviewing
your work understand the language used.

4. Visual Appeal ● Use appropriate transitions, effects, and graphics to enhance


and Creativity the visual appeal of your presentation.

● Consider incorporating creative elements such as animations,


infographics, or voice-over narrations to engage your
audience.

5. Time ● Strictly adhere to the prescribed time frame of three (3)


Management minutes minimum and five (5) minute maximum.

● Practice and rehearse your presentation to ensure a seamless


delivery within the allotted time.

Grievances ● A member will be excluded from the group's list if they fail
to actively participate at least twice during the
pre-production (research and planning), production (shooting
and video editing), and post-production (presenting the video
in class) phases, whether consecutively or nonconsecutively.

Point System ● The highest possible score that a panel can give to an
element is 15 Points. With the exception of the last element
(Overall Presentation and Impact), the panel member may
award the video a maximum of 25 points.

● The lowest possible score that a judge can give to an element


is 5 Points.
