Climate
INTRODUCTION
Change
It refers to the statistically changes in
climate for continuous period of time.

These changes can have wide-ranging

and potentially devastating effects on
the planet's ecosystems, including sea
level rise, more frequent and intense
natural disasters, and the extinction of
plant and animal species.

CARBON DIOXIDE
THEORY
The main effect volcanoes have
on the climate is short term
cooling. Volcanic eruptions pump
out clouds of dust and ash, which
block out so me sunlight.
Because the ash particles are
Volcanic Eruptions relatively heavy, they fall to the
ground within about three
months, so their cooling effect is
very short-lived.

periods (Ice Ages).
The Milankovitch
cycles include:
1. The shape of Earth’s orbit,
known as eccentricity;
2. The angle Earth’s axis is tilted
with respect to Earth’s orbital
plane, known as obliquity;
and
3. The direction Earth’s axis of
rotation is pointed, known as
precession.
THE CARBON
DIOXIDE THEORY
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is added
when power and heat are
produced by burning coal, oil
and other fossil fuels.
Carbo dioxide absorbs part of the
infrared radiation in the air and
returns in the air near the surface

HUMAN ACTIVITIES
CONTRIBUTE TO
CLIMATE CHANGE.

The largest known contribution

comes from the burning of fossil
fuels, which realeses carbon dioxide
gas to the atmosphere.
