Lesson Plan Idea – Using Technology!

Part 1
Directions: Students will create a lesson plan idea for the class they are currently
assigned. The lesson plan must align curricular goals and instructional objectives
with the capabilities of the electronic media (TECHNOLOGY). Every classroom has
different levels of technology. You may incorporate the use of a laptop cart or a
visit to the media center to create your lesson plan. Discuss the idea with your
teacher and complete the following activity. There are a plethora of available
resources online for incorporating technology into lesson planning.

1. Objective (what the students should be able to do after you have taught the lesson) -

Students will be able to read, write, spell, and memorize words.

2. Materials (supplies the teacher needs or the student needs to complete the lesson) -
 Laptop
 I-Ready

3. Procedure (step by step guide from the introduction of the lesson to the conclusion of the
lesson)
Teacher will go into I-ready and select certain lessons for the students to do based on
their academic needs and lessons based on word work.

1. Students will login into their I-ready account

2. Students will then began working on the lesson’s teacher assigned
3. Students will listen to word work lessons and learn how to spell, sound out, and
memorize words on sight.
4. Student will also have to answer the questions and problems on I-ready and pass
the lesson to move on to the next lesson

4. Assessment (explain how will you determine if the student has mastered the objective)
I will determine the student has mastered the objective when they’re passing all their lessons
on I-ready.

Part II
Explain why lesson plans incorporating technology are important in enhancing a student’s
classroom learning experience. Please support your explanation with examples of lesson plans
you have seen in various classrooms throughout your Teacher Assisting internship (5-7
sentences).

It is important to incorporate technology because auditory and visual learners both can
benefit from the usage of technology in the classroom. Using technology such as
PowerPoints, games, internet homework assignments, and online grading systems can
all make a difference in a student's classroom improvement. Technology provides
teachers with a variety of tools to assist students gain a deeper comprehension of the
material, in addition to standard materials such as textbooks and worksheets. Because
kids learn in different ways, including more learning modalities raises the chances that
all your students will understand what you're teaching. Technology allows teachers to
accommodate various learning styles, whether students learn best through lectures,
reading, examples, or video.

Part III
After you have created your lesson plan incorporating, evaluate the level of difficulty of the
assignment (5-7 sentences).

Creating this lesson plan was hard because my first-grade students don’t work with
technology much in the classroom expect for I-ready. I then remember that I was able to go
into each students i-ready account and personalize their lesson plan based on what I think
they need help working on. I choose word work for most students since a lot of students have
a hard time remembering sight words and how to spell words. Creating a lesson plan for I-
ready is perfect for first graders, because they don’t really know much on how to use
technology.
