Characteristic of human Educational Implication to Child Care,

development from a life-span Education and Parenting
perspective
1. Development is lifelong Since development does not end in adulthood, we
should teach everyone that being adult doesn’t mean
they will not be able to grow or do something like what
the younger generations can do.
2. Development is plastic No one is too old to learn. Everyone could learn and
achieve development. Given the fact that aging
decreases our intellectual abilities, we can retrain to
prevent it.
3. Development is Someone’s growth might be in our hands so let us be
multidimensional aware of what we teach students, or on how we raise
our child. One mistake on their biological development
might affect their cognitive and socio-emotional
development.
4. Development is We all have the power to create a good environment for
contextual everyone whether at school or at our home. Child’s
environment has a big role on their development, on
how they act or speak.
5. Development involves Our development is also in our hands as well as other
growth, maintenance, people’s lives. We must teach them that we must set a
and regulation goal for our growth and give importance to maintaining
and regulating our development.

2. “Growth is an evidence of life” or “development is an evidence of life” means that we

must value ourselves in this world on how to cope with environmental changes in order
to survive. Growth will be part of our lives. We grow and will be growing.

3. No. Since development in traditional approach means that only birth to adolescence
has a big chance of extensive change while there is no change or little change and in
adulthood, development decreases in old age. On the other hand, in life-span approach,
even in adulthood the development still takes place.
