ABSTRACT

This study entitled “Flexural Strength of a Concrete using Sugarcane Bagasse Ash

with Sawdust Ash as a Partial Replacement of Cement in Concrete” is a piece of work

brought up by the hard work and year of learning in this institution, University of Batangas.

This study primarily aims for replacement of sugarcane bagasse ash with sawdust ash to

the cement that will affect the flexural strength of the concrete.

Sugarcane bagasse ash is a byproduct of sugar factories found after burning

sugarcane bagasse. This study will use the SCBA with SDA obtained from Nasugbu ,

Batangas as a material to replace cement. The percentage of SCBA added to cement

material is up to 5%, 10%, and 15% by the total weight. The specimens were cast and

tested at 7 days, 14 days and 28 days of curing age. Flexural strength test will be used to

determine the force required to bend the specimen. Slump test will also be used to

determine the workability of the concrete. The researcher will use a combination of

experimental and relative methods of analysis to interpret the data effectively.
