1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE


This method statement shall serve as guideline regarding installation of frame, doors, windows
and glass in compliance to Saudi Aramco Standard Requirements for Security Support and
Operation Support Building at Satellite Gas Compression Pipeline Project.

4. RESPONSABILITY:
 Project Manager shall be responsible for the overall implementation of the Quality and
Safety to ensure the execution of works in accordance with the contract and company
requirements.
 QC Manager shall be responsible to implement the quality system and to arrange the
required inspection manpower/coverage.
 QC Supervisor Will make sure the proper site QC supervision, QC Inspector availability at
site and all related required documentations.
 QC Inspector shall carry out all required Inspections, Surveillance and release by signing
various Quality Records as proof of Inspection conforming to Specifications under the
supervision/monitoring of QC Supervisor. The QC Inspector shall issue Request for
Inspection to Saudi Aramco PID as defined by the relevant SATIP.
 Construction Supervisor (SC) shall be responsible for the all safety precautions as required
and where applicable the manufacturer's safety indication sheets. He shall be responsible
for construction activities to comply the requirements and reported to construction
manager (CM).
 Safety Officer shall be available on work site full time right from Mobilization till the end
of the work to coordinate and implement the Loss Prevention Program. He shall be Report
to the HSE Manager. Inspect the work for all safety aspects. Implement the Permit-to-
Work system with Work Permit Receivers. Conduct safety orientation course / toll box
talks to the site team.

5. EQUIPMENT, TOOLS & MANPOWER:


As per site requirement, condition and accessibility, the following equipment and tools
used to execute Painting Works at the project, but not limited to:

 Crane/ truck
 Fork lifter
 straight edge
 Line dory/ plumb/ sprit level
 Wheelbarrows
 Right angle/ measuring tape
 Surveyor/ Helpers
 Masons
 Labors
 Installers
 Scaffolders
 Screw drive machine

6. MATERIAL
 Approved metal doors and frame.
 Approved hardware and accessories.
 Approves paint and color code.
 Cement and grout/ sealant
 Screws

7. SAFETY:
A specific site Job Safety Analysis will be required prior to start the work in order to assess the
specific risk arisen in work location, which will include all HSE requirements and the specific
safety measures to perform the work safely.

 All work shall be undertaken in accordance with the Saudi Aramco PROJECT HSE Manual
and all individual activities will be set up in an orderly manner to ensure compliance with
the requirements.
 Necessary work permits shall be obtained (by the Site Engineer) prior to start of any work
activity and work shall commence in accordance with the specific measures itemized in
the permit. A copy of the work permit shall be displayed at designated areas on site near
the work area to make available all relevant information on the permit to all operatives
performing the works.
 All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as coveralls, safety Personnel
performing work at all time (Where required) shall wear shoes, safety helmet, safety
vests, goggles and hand glove.
 Safety signage’s and barricades, traffic cones shall be provided whenever required during
the implementation of this activity.
 The worksite shall be maintained in a clean and tidy condition for the duration of the
works.

8. PROCEDURE / DOORS & WINDOWS INSTALLATION


8.1 Metal Doors Receiving
 Door dimensions shall be as per the approved Schedule reflected in the IFC Drawing.
 Correct materials shall be uploaded and will be store in a manner to prevent damage and
deterioration.
 Door and frame will be provided packaging such as cardboard or other containers,
separators, banding, spreaders and paper wrappings to protect hollow metal items.
 Doors and frames will be stored upright, in a protected dry covered area, at least 100 mms
or more above ground.
 Means of egress doors shall provide a clear width of not less than 813 mm. The maximum
width of swinging door leaf shall be 1,219 mm. nominal. The height of doors shall not be less
than 2,032 mm.
 Door texture, finish, and color shall be as per the approved Schedule reflected in the IFC
Drawing.
 The final inspection shipping release is available with the fire rated or blast resistant steel
doors and frames at the time of receipt at the job site.
 Fire door assemblies shall be labeled by an approved agency. The labels shall comply with
FPA 80 and shall be permanently affixed to the door or frame.
8.2 Window Receiving
 Window dimensions shall be as per the approved Schedule reflected in the IFC Drawing.
 Window texture, finish, and color shall be as per the approved Schedule reflected in the IFC
Drawing.
 Glazing in fire window assemblies shall be fire-protection rated.
 Correct materials shall be uploaded and will be store in a manner to prevent damage and
deterioration.
8.3 Doors, Windows and Glass Pre- Installation
 Preparation of fire door assemblies for locks, latches, hinges, remotely operated or remotely
monitored hardware, concealed closers, glass lights, vision panels, louvers, astragals and split
astragals, and laminated overlays shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer
recommendations.
 Surface-applied hardware shall be applied to the door or frame without removing material
other than drilling round holes to accommodate spindles, similar operational elements, and
through-bolts in doors.
 Prior to the installation of doors, window & glass items, the opening size of door and
window shall be checked with respect to approved IFC drawing.
8.4 Doors, Windows and Glass Installation
 Distribution of the door will be done as per approved door schedule and shop drawing in
their respective locations.
 Door frame shall be matching with the wall opening and thickness of wall.
 In case opening in wall is less than the required opening, wall portion shall be cut with disc
cutter/grinder and incase the opening is bigger than the required with or height, masonry or
concrete work shall be done.
 Frame will be fixed in the wall opening. And shall be prevent bulginess in the frame during
installation, and frame shall be in its position, level and aligned.
 Corners shall be checked with right angle and keep maintained.
 Door leaf will be fixed, and hinges shall be installed.
 Hardware and accessories shall be installed as per approved door and windows schedule.
 Leaf and frames, glass shall be protected during grouting and other activities.
 After installation Gaps between the frame and walls shall be packed with baking rod, sealant
in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
 Finally, the operation of door and window shall be checked to ensure the installed door
and window is working smooth and free from obstructions.

8.4 Protection/ cleaning


 Doors, windows, glass and Hardware shall be protected from damages and to maintain it in
its original condition during other activities.
 Door, windows, glass shall be clean properly after grout, sealant etc.
9. INSPECTION AND TESTING:
 Quality control inspection will be conducted the inspections in accordance with the
approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
