PERMIT TO WORK

Permit to Work refers is a safe system of work used to ensure that work is done safely. Effective use of PTW system can
protect the People, Asset and the Environment from harm.

• Is Panel Assessment conducted for the PTW signatories ( AA/IA/JP/JO) and records of the Training &
Panel Assessment Retained

• Is increase in PTW Limits subjected to endorsement in writing by the Area Manager


• Is continuous supervision maintained for High Risk activities and Task Risk assessment available for
the high-risk activity (Reviewed/ Revalidated).
• Are High risk activities and jobs which require extension beyond normal daylight working hours are
approved of the permit by higher management (Area Manager, Department Line Manager/Team
Leader or Duty Manager) prior to issue as applicable
• Is Tool Box talk given at the work site to all personnel involved in the work controlled by the
PTW/Certificate immediately prior to commencing the job
• Is continuous gas monitoring available for naked flame and high-energy sparks work in Hazardous
Areas.
• Is CPIC issued to authorize the override or inhibition of safeguarding system , approved by TL (< 12
Hours), VPO/VPT( >12 Hrs)
• Is specific emergency and rescue plan available for Confined space entry , agreed and
communicated
• Is confined space isolated by disconnection or spading as close to the confined space

• Are users of SCBA/SAR comply with the ADNOC Onshore Facial Hair policy.
• Is Buddy System (Competent standby personnel) followed and at least one person other than the
Job Performer must be in attendance outside to render assistance in an Emergency
• Is Confined Space “Stand-by Person” monitors the entry process and ensured that only defined
number of entrants in permit/ certificate are allowed.
• Is Job Performer prominently displays the signed permit copy at the work-site
• Is P&C Area demarcated or fenced off from other operational areas with controlled entry and exit
gates to/from operational areas and the boundaries of the area clearly marked up on a drawing
accompanying the Hand-over Certificate
• Is system in place to ensure that on completion of work, expiration of the permit or if the
PTW/certificate have been suspended, the job performer shall return the original copy of
PTW/Certificates to the Line HSE through the relevant Area authority for reference and permits
closed through e-PTW system as applicable
