Abstrak : This study aims to improve reading comprehension skills in Indonesian
class III students at SD Negeri 21 Kelapa, using the CIRC method. The type of this
research is Classroom Action Research with 18 students as the subject of class III SD
Negeri Congkrang II, Muntilan. The object of this research is the students' reading
comprehension ability using the CIRC method. Action Research is carried out in two
cycles in which each cycle contains four components, namely planning, action
implementation, observation and reflection. The action given to students is in the
form of applying the CIRC method to improve students' reading comprehension
skills. Data collection techniques in the form of observations, interviews,
questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique used
descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. Qualitative analysis was used for
qualitative data in the form of interviews, field notes, and documentation of student
assignments. Quantitative analysis was used for quantitative data obtained from
students' reading comprehension test results before and after being given action.
