Giving Genuine Responses
1. Use your words: VERBALISE IF YOU AGREE OR
NOT
2. Push - pull in a conversation

Instead of saying Try saying

I agree with you.
You're right about that/ That's
I don't agree with you.
true / That's exactly how I feel
I don't think so / I'm afraid I don't
agree with you about that
Try to avoid repeating the I see what you're saying but...
That's a good point, but ...
same phrases over and over
Common Errors
I'm agree [I am agree??] --> I agree
That's mean [That is mean??] --> That MEANS
Adding -s unnecessarily e.g. "I likes to watch Koreans
dramas and listens to K-pops songs"
Using "is it" as a question tag e.g. "You don't agree with
this, is it?"
Using "Last time" instead of "previously" or "before this"
Repeating the same phrases over and over "For
me...This is because...For example..."
Help each other
Asking for clarification If you don't know the
word...
Could you repeat that please?
Try describing what it looks like,
I don't understand what you said
or what it is used for
What did you mean by ...?
Your partner can try guessing
Then you carry on with the
conversation

Who Am I?
Teacher chooses several students OR you can play with your friends.
They are given sticky notes to stick on their forehead. Each sticky note
has a noun on it, e.g. type of animal, name of a famous person (Don't
peek!)
The remaining students come and describe things related to the noun to
help the student with the sticky note answer the question "Who am I?"
Stand Up For Fillers
1 person is given a topic to talk about for 1 minute.
They are given some time to prepare.
Every time the person who is speaking says "um, ah, so, like," one
student stands up.
This creates awareness about the types of words you use when you
speak.
Over time, you will use less fillers when you speak.
