“What are Farm Tools or Hand Tools?”
FARM TOOLS or HAND TOOLS – are also called as Hand Tools because these are usually
light and handy which are used without the help with animals or a Machinery.
FARM TOOLS are classified to;
1. DIGGING TOOLS
 Used for digging up big stones and tree
stumps.
Crowbar  Used for digging big holes

 Used for removing trash and mixing soil

Performance Task
Let’s Apply what you have learned. Show that you have learned something by performing
the proper use of shovel.
PPE Needed : Hat, Gloves, Long Sleeves, Long Pants, Foot wear
PROCEDURE: 1. Keep feet wide apart. Place front foot close to the shovel
2. Put weight on front foot. Use leg to push shovel.
3. Shift weight to rear foot. Keep load close to body
4. Turn feet in the direction of throw
5. Perform house keeping.
Reminders : 1. Record your Self performing the proper use of shovel and send it to me/TLE
subject teacher via messenger.
2. In case, you will not be able to perform due to personal reasons. Kindly send me
a message to provide you a different activity suited to your needs and situation.
E. GENERALIZATION

In this lesson, you have learned the difference of Farm Tools to equipment. You have
also across the different farm tools and equipment and learned how each tool work and
being use in performing Farm activities.
Remember class, process of raising plants can be achieve by using appropriate Hand
Tools and equipment. A simple and small garden can be manage and handled with just
few days BUT it recommended a proper farm tools and equipment for the efficiency of
your crop production BECAUSE class – the farm tools and equipment make us easier,
faster and save us more time and effort.
