1. Instructional Supervision (IS) is a professional continuous and cooperative process for the
improvement of instruction. It is characterized by guidance, assistance, sharing of ideas, facilitation, or
creation to help teachers improve the learning situation and quality of learning in the schools.
2. Along with the DepEd policy, Schools Division of Siargao conforms to the conduct of Instructional
Supervision to guide its instructional leaders, school principals, master teachers, head teachers, and
teachers with the needed templates to avoid conflict and misinterpretation. Also, school IS includes the
preparation of a monthly plan and monthly accomplishment report which will be submitted to PSDS
for consolidation. The accomplished IS plan will serve as the basis for the conduct of instructional
supervision and technical assistance provision of the EPS and PSDS which will form part of their
monthly accomplishment report.
3. In this regard, enclosed are the templates that shall be used by the instructional leaders in the field for
uniformity. These templates can be used for both rated (PPST-based) and non-rated Instructional
Supervision. The focus for the rated IS will be classroom observable indicators lifted from the
Development Plan and or the COT forms while the non-rated shall be based only on the specific
teaching-learning episode or part (e.g., motivation part, classroom management, activity, or
assessment). Meanwhile, PSDS shall submit a copy of the monthly consolidated plan and report to
CID Chief to be included in the monthly IS activities and monitoring of the learning area supervisors.
