Greetings of Peace and Prosperity!

Socorro Central is still on its way of implementing the Brigada Eskwela, an initiative program of the
Department of Education to prepare every school for the face-to-face classes which will be on its full
implementation this coming November, 2022. As part of our quest for continuous education is to ensure that the
learning needs of our pupils are catered in our most sincere way. One of the highlights of the Brigada Eskwela is
the Brigada Basa, an initiative project of the school to assist the reading readiness and skills of our pupils and to
support their journey towards academic excellence. We believed that through reading and developing their
comprehension skills, pupils will able to explore the world of learning. Knowing the scenario that every learner
had experienced with the Modular Learning Approach for almost 3 years because of the pandemic, it was
observed that their learning was at risk, due to reading difficulties and back logs in learning.

In connection to this, we come up with an idea of tapping stakeholders and those who are education
advocate to spare time with our struggling readers so that gradually they will be able to cope with this learning
difficulty. Our prospect partners in the implementation of the Brigada Basa is the Fourth Year Education Student
who have the passion to help our learners overcome their reading gaps and difficulties. Training on beginning
reading will be employed for our Education Students on (October 21, 2022) at the ICT Room so that they will
have the idea on how to address the reading needs of the pupils who are identified as struggling and non-readers.
After which, they will act as reading tutors to our struggling and non-readers.

With your partnership and cooperation, with our tagline “Para sa Bata, Para sa Paaralan”, we believed that
we can help these learners to have the best learning experiences in SOCES & SPED Center.
