PROJECT TITLE : FOOD DONATION APPLICATION

ABSTRACT :
In highly populated countries like India, food wastage is a disturbing issue. The streets,
garbage bins and landfills have ample proof to prove it. Marriages, canteens, restaurants, social
and family get-togethers and functions expel out so much food. Food wastage is not only an
indication of hunger or pollution, but also of many economic problems. The high standard of
living has resulted in the wastage of food, clothes, etc. because of quick changes in habits and
lifestyle. Instead of wasting these things we can put them in use by donating them to various
organizations such as orphanages, old age homes, etc. The application being developed is an
internet-based android application that basically aims at charity through donations. The
proposed application shall reduce food wastage and also fulfill other requirements like clothes,
books, utensils, etc. of needy organizations and peoples. As mentioned above, there is a lot of
food wastage that occurs daily at restaurants and cafes. Instead of throwing away the same as
trash, it can be used to feed the homeless. Also, since the pickup is arranged for by the
enterprise, the restaurants/cafes need not worry about it. Benefiters will be both the
restaurants/cafés (reducing the carbon footprint and wastage), and the needy. The ultimate
objective of this project is to communicate that investments in food wastage reduction is the
most logical step in the pursuit of sustainable production and consumption, including food
security, climate change and other adverse environmental effects. Public awareness materials
and a strategy will be developed to this effect.

MODULE DESCRIPTION :
DASHBOARD MODULE :
The My Dashboard page shows all the other pages like donate, receive, history, about
us, contact us, logout in the app. We can easily navigate to other pages from here.
REGISTER MODULE :
In this module, a person can register in the app by entering their name, email, phone
number and password. And then click on register to become the user of the food donation app.
LOGIN MODULE :
Any user who register his/her account can login using their e-mail and password.
DONATE MODULE :
Any user of the food donation app who’s willing to donate can click on the donate page.
There he/she can enter their name, food items which they would like to donate, their phone
number and a short description. And then they can click on submit button.
RECEIVE MODULE :
Any person who is in need of any food items can move to the receiver’s page, enter
his/her name and a short description about what they are in need for. And then click on the
submit button.
HISTORY MODULE :
The history page shows the information details about a particular user, their donation
history or receive history and everything.
ABOUT US MODULE :
The about us module gives a short description on the food donation app. It also has
various social media links related to the food donation app.
CONTACT US MODULE :
Any user having queries to be addressed can move to the contact-us page and enter their
name, e-mail and a short message and then click on the submit button.
LOGOUT MODULE :
The user can simply click on the logout button on the my dashboard page to logout.
