Chapter 4

SUMMARY, FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary and findings of a study that

investigated the Coping Strategies on Blended Learning of criminology

students at Ceguera Technological Colleges. The study employed a

quantitative research approach, and the respondents were Criminology

students from third years. Additionally, the chapter provides

recommendations that institutions could adopt based on the study's results.

Summary

The study aimed to investigate the Coping Strategies on Blended

Learning of criminology students at Ceguera Technological Colleges.

Specifically, it seeks to answer the following research questions:

1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:

a. Age

b. Gender

c. Birth order

2. What are the coping strategies on blended learning of Criminology

Students in terms of:

a. Active Coping

b. Planning

c. Suppression

d. Restraint

e. Social-support

f. Substance used

3. What intervention can be proposed to enhance the coping mechanism

of respondents?

The respondents of the study were randomly selected among 137

Bachelor of Science in Criminology third year students of Ceguera

Technological Colleges. The researchers made use of descriptive research.

The Statistical treatments used were frequency, percentage technique and

Weighted Mean.

Findings

Based from the data gathered, the following findings were drowned.

1. The majority of the respondents fall within the 21-24 age group, relatively

balanced, wherein 63% were female who belong to the middle child.

2. It was found out that the respondents commonly employed active coping

strategies by adding action to solve the problem, plan strategies and focus in

the problem immediately not to make it worse, ask support from someone

and last recourse to forget the problem is to take some substance.

3. Suggestions for Intervention program were made based on the results of

the Coping Strategies on Blended Learning of Criminology students of

Ceguera Technological Colleges.

Conclusions

Based from the findings, the following conclusion were drowned.

1. Majority of the respondents were young female, adult who belong

middle born child.

2. There are several coping strategies that the respondents utilized on

blended learning.

3. Action Plan will be a very effective approach to educate BS

Criminology Students about helpful Coping Strategies.

Recommendations

Based on from the findings and conclusion the following

recommendations where made:

1. Promote the coping strategies of criminology student progress

regardless of age and gender.

2. Active Coping. actively engage in the learning process by

participating in discussions, asking questions, and seeking clarification when

needed, Planning. Create a study schedule or a weekly plan to manage your

time efficiently. Break down your coursework into manageable tasks and

allocate specific time slots for each, Suppression. Acknowledge and address

any negative emotions or stress you may experience during blended learning,

Restraint. Practice self-discipline and avoid distractions that can hinder your

learning process, Social-Support. Engage with fellow Criminology students

and form study groups to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and support

each other, Substance Used. Avoid relying on substances such as drugs or

alcohol as coping mechanisms for stress or academic pressures.

3. Organize workshops or training sessions focused on study habits seminar,

time management, team building, coping strategy, stress management

techniques, relaxation exercises, practices, and cognitive-behavioral

strategies.
