PNP HS Nurse: An Aid to Law Enforcement.

PCPT DAPHNE GRACE B MASCARDO --- a conscientious and sedulous professional

as she came across many challenges; transitioning from personal nurse of former PRRD
(PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE) while entering into progression of motherhood
to PNP Health Service under the unit of RMDU 11 (Regional Medical and Dental Unit 11)
specifically in Nursing Section. In her role as Nurse Officer.

As a loyal to the service of PNP Health Service, she has proved extraordinary strengths
to achieve exemplary accomplishments… to conform to, Proposed Project: Repair and
Retrofitting Works and Installation of Fire Protection System of Building 1 and 2 of
CQMMH (Camp Quintin M Merecido Hospital) as she demonstrated great adamant
through linkages with National and Local Agencies. Despite the challenges of this
COVID-19 pandemic, series of visitation and follow-ups she partook to the offices of
Davao City Engineering, City Planning and Development, City Budget, DOH-DCHD
HFEP (Health Facilities Enhancement Program) and to DPWH XI as she expanded her
efforts to improve the delivery of quality health care needed and other access with this
initiative she preserved.

Infection and Prevention Control Nurse. The COVID-19 pandemic underscores

the global need for motivated nurse professionals who specialize in developing and
implementing infection prevention and control techniques. As to add, one of whom is
PCPT MASCARDO. Notable goings-on in braving the danger of getting infected with
virus by performing her regular nursing procedures she still manages in giving fineness
tending to those PNP personnel, Non-Uniformed Personnel, their dependents and
authorized civilians. She performs assessment in isolating and treating infected
individuals to contain the spread of infectious diseases. Along with this, she also
conducts lectures on Infection and Prevention Control to the different units of PRO 11.

Patient Safety Chairperson. It has gone to the mentioned-above in the prevention of

harm to patients. In dealing day to day regular render of nursing service, PCPT
MASCARDO together with her co-nurses applying her honed skills and knowledge she
monitors patients, detecting errors and near misses and continue performing other tasks
to ensure patients receive high-quality health care in different areas of CQMMH such
OPD, ER and other administrative files of patients’ records.

Anti-Rabies Prevention and Control Advocacy. This was conducted last March 23,
2022, PCPT MASCARDO joined in the Training on Animal Bite and Rabies Exposure
Management for ABTC/ABC Doctors and Nurses with On-site Practicum/Return
Demonstration of ID (Intradermal) route of ARV (Anti Rabies Vaccine) & RIG (Rabies
Immune Globulin) Infiltration. Clearly, it made known for nursing management of rabies
which strengthens her competencies in identifying risk, prognosis and intervention as she
harnesses in multi-sectoral and multi-disciplinary collaborative efforts not only in hospital,
she is serving but also to the community in a whole-approach to curb the incidence of
such disease.

Aside of the facts cited, she led a succession of Medical Team in numerous PRO 11 and
RMDU 11 activities which recently as to highlight during the “Planned Motoride” of PRRD
(PRESIDENT RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE) in the specific areas of Davao del Norte,
Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental and other related events concerning the safety of
PRRD in parts of Davao City and neighboring regions. This confirmed a strong
leadership in a team that influenced and boost the morale and welfare of her fellow police
officers.

Her accomplishments were remarkable and impressive during the course of her time in
this unit. Hence, she is a promising nurse and police officer. She has also shown an
extremely high level of skill and holds a high standard of compassion like a nurse ought
to be. She was a proven asset in RMDU 11 and has greater potential in attesting her
capabilities especially in the field of nursing service. Thus, she has been awarded as
Best Nurse PCO of 4th Quarter CY 2021. She has obtained different natures of award
such as two (2) Medalya ng Kasanayan, two (2) Medalya ng Papuri and one (1) Medalya
ng Pagtulong sa Nasalanta, five (5) commendations and ten (10) recognitions covering
the period from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. She also attended and participated
three hundred sixty (360) command activities, in totality.

PCPT MASCARDO is dependable with her rating of Very Satisfactory (with an average
of 90%) and Outstanding (with an average 91%). With conviction, it reflects the kind of
leadership she has with her commitment to her duties and responsibilities through her
hard work in pursuing her goals that will serve her well.

It is truly certain that PCPT DAPHNE GRACE B MASCARDO, RN has garnered nothing
but respect from her contemporaries and views her as a just nurse supervisor. Mighty her
robustness will be earned and coveted the “Nurse Officer of the Year” award.
Therefore, it is a firm belief she has a positive contribution in a precise considerable in
undertaking such category as an awardee and toward furthering the mission and vision
of PNP Health Service.
