My study is about ‘’The Relationship Between Social Media and Mental Health’’.

In the study, I would like to look into better understanding how people's mental health and their
use of social media interact. It focuses on figuring out how particular social media behaviors,
such as content generation, active involvement (likes and comments), and passive content
consumption, affect different elements of mental health like anxiety, sadness, loneliness, and
self-esteem. It also aims to investigate how online social support affects mental health in the
face of difficult circumstances. Additionally, I want to find out whether there are any moderating
factors, such as age, gender, or pre-existing mental health issues, that affect this relationship.

I am deliberately omitting a deep exploration of the potential positive effects of social media on
mental health from my study to focus primarily on the potential negative impacts. While there is
research suggesting that social media can have positive outcomes, such as opportunities for
self-expression, my study aims to address concerns about the adverse effects of excessive or
problematic social media use on mental health.
