What is a Student Portfolio?

A Student portfolio is a collection of chosen work


by a student representing a selection of
performances that is collected over time and
describes the learner’s efforts, progress, and
achievement in key areas.
Learner here is an active participant involved in
constructing his or her journey through the
portfolio building process of selecting, organizing
and reflecting.
Purpose of the Portfolio :

Portfolio provides a profile of learner’s abilities – in-


depth growth and progress
It is a tool for assessing a variety of skills.
It helps to develop among students an awareness of
their own learning.
It shows learners artistic, creative, innovative,
rational comprehensive and conceptual growth.

Learning Objectives:
The students will ..
-nurture the desire to improve creative writing output
and a willingness to write!
-explore a variety of writing concepts to apply to their
own writing
-develop personal discipline during the holidays
Instructions
Students can do each activity on a separate A4 sheet and put them in a
folder.
Each activity should be done on different days and not all together.
Any 10 of the above-mentioned activities can be attempted by the
students.
The sheets will have to be added to the student portfolio.

Task - Choose any 15 professions. Write their masculine
and feminine forms and add images for each of them.
Translate the sentences in English.
(Example - Il est boulanger. (Masculine)

Make a landscape drawing. Paint it using colours
obtained when you mix an organic acid/base with
different natural substances (You can use turmeric,
red cabbage juice, hibiscus extract).
Refer to your textbook for detailed information.
Feel free to use origami papers in areas difficult for
painting.
Draw a legend behind your painting. The legend
indicates how the colours were obtained.
Eg: Brick red = turmeric powder + baking soda
A legend is a must.
