Drama-Grade 2 Unit 5 Reflection

Teacher Reflections:

Learners engaged in learning how to be writers, using their imagination and experiences to create
stories that will be performed. Learners read a handout and discussed what it takes to write two
or more character scene. They applied their knowledge through exercises done in class. Learners
developed various skills such as critical thinking, while analyzing and forming ideas for the
scene, in their discussions; they used their creative thinking skills to generate novel ideas.

Student Reflections:
Learners were given the voice and choice to decide the theme for their scene, upon stage
directions, movement, gestures. They did research to support their imagination, to create topic
and character traits for their scene.

Assessment Reflection:

At the end of the unit, learners conducted a summative assessment to assess their understanding
of ATL skills and the transdisciplinary theme How We Express Ourselves. They performed the
scenes from the script they created, in their performance learners showed best of their acting
technique and gestures; they showed their knowledge of stage directions, use of space and
movement on stage. Learners included the audience perspective while expressing their show.
They developed such skills as critical thinking to analyze and form decisions while choosing the
subject of scenario and in discussions, creative thinking skills to generating novel ideas during
scenes creation, self-management skills uses of states of mind in great teamwork and
organization. The skills were build and developed during whole project starting from first
analysis, during preparation, until the performance point.
