Drama-Grade 5 Unit 5 Reflection

Teacher Reflections:

Learners engaged in writing a monologue. They completed exercises that demonstrate how the
character’s need to speak can result in a better monologue. Learners were given several topics
their chose the ones they wanted to work on, whether acting as producers or consumers. During
the learning process, they completed a monologue-script analysis, had discussions, and did
research, they focused on using their critical thinking skills when analyzing and forming
decisions; their creative thinking skills while writing the monologue; self-management skills -
organization and states of mind when working to make sure they met the dead line

Student Reflections:
Learners were given a several topics for their choice representing responsibility as both
producers and consumers. The chosen topic were learners theme for the monologue.

Assessment Reflection:
At the end of the unit, learners conducted a summative assessment to assess their understanding
of ATL skills and the transdisciplinary theme How We Organize Ourselves. Learners performed
the monologue they wrote. They complete exercises that demonstrate how a character’s need to
speak results in a better monologue. Then they wrote a monologue that applies this knowledge.
They used such skills as critical thinking while analyzing and forming decisions, creative
thinking skills to write the scenario, self-management skills for the organization & states of mind
while distributing roles, preparing project performance, meeting dead line, and communication
skills while listening, interpreting and speaking in the group works.
