abilities.
Lesson Idea In this lesson, students will develop an introductory
understanding of the unit circle and how it relates to
trigonometric equations. They will utilize Google Jamboard to
visually represent and solve trigonometric equations using the
unit circle.
Introduction:
-The teacher will introduce the concept of the unit circle and its
relevance to trigonometric functions.
-Engage students with a brief discussion and some real-life
applications to pique their interest.
Guided Practice:
-The teacher will demonstrate using the unit circle to solve a few
trigonometric equations.
-Students will follow along, asking questions and seeking
clarification.
Independent Practice with Jamboard:
-Each student will create a digital unit circle using Google
Jamboard, labeling the key points and angles.
-Students will then use the unit circle they created to solve given
trigonometric equations.
Small Group- Peer Review:
-Students will work in small groups to review and discuss each
other's Google Jamboard unit circles and trigonometric solutions.
-They will provide feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Presentation:
-Each group will present their Google Jamboard unit circle and
demonstrate how they used it to solve trigonometric equations.
Assessment:
-Student understanding will be assessed based on the accuracy
of their unit circle representation and the correctness of their
trigonometric solutions.
Design Reflection This lesson integrates technology to enhance engagement and
understanding of trigonometry using the unit circle. The
interactive nature of Google Jamboard allows students to
visually grasp abstract concepts, making the learning process
more effective and enjoyable. To extend this lesson, additional
complex trigonometric problems could be introduced for students
to solve using their Jamboard unit circles. Other technology tools
such as Desmos or GeoGebra could also complement this
activity by providing dynamic and interactive representations of
the unit circle and trigonometric functions.
