Republic of the Philipines Department of Education Cordillera Administrative Region Schools Division of Tabuk City Wester Tabuk District 1 CALANAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Purok 5, Calanan,Tabuk City, Kalinga SCHOOL MEMORANDUM NO. 2, S. 2022 From AG DALILIS, Principal 1 To: All Teachers PTA Officers Purok Coordinators SUBJECT: SUSTAINABILITY OF THE SCHOOL BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT CONDUCTED LAST SCHOOL YEAR November 21, 2022 a Based on the suggestions after the final judging of the School Beautification Contest last School Year, each Purok will have to maintain their respected areas whether they won the contest or not. ‘The aim of the sustainability of the project is to keep maintain the cleanliness of the school surroundings and to sustain the Gulayan program since each area has its Gulayan / Vegetable garden ‘The PRAISE Committee will be observing and taking down and check the Purok area which have regularly visited, cleaned and maintained their area. The Purok leaders / coordinators who will m tain their area regularly will be given a Certificate of Recognition during the Closing/ recognition Day in July 2023. Immediate dissemination of this memorandum is desired. As per DepEd Order No. 36, s. 2016 entilled Policy Guidelines on awards and recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program will be used in the giving of awards this school year as we have already started with the full blast Face to Face Classes; 2. The following are the awards to be given at the end of the school year: 1. Classroom level awards a. Academic excellence award (Grade 1-6) 1. With highest honors (98-100) 2. With High Honors (95-97) 3. With Honors (90-94) 2. Grade level awards a. Academic excellence awards — 1. attained a general Average of at least 90 and a passing grade in al eaming areas 2. The general average is reported is reported as a whole number, but as for ranking , there should be 3 decimal places. b. Leadership award (Grade 6) Have demonstrated exemplary skills in motivating others and organizing projects that have significantly contributed to the betterment of the school and/or community. - To qualify this a leamer must: * Have No failing Grades in all learning areas * Have not committed any offense punishable by suspension or higher sanction. * Be a class officer or an active member/ officer of any recognize school club or organization. c. Award for outstanding performance in specific discipiines (Grade 6) - Exhibited exemplary skills and achievement in specific disciplines . Athletics * Shown outstanding skils in athletics through participation and victories * The academic rating that will be considered for this award would be the pupil's final grade in Physical education. * outstanding skills in arls and above average creativity and craftmanship * the academic rating that will be considered for this award is the final Grade in Music, and Arts. ¢. Communication Arts * Demonstrated proficiency in any language (Filipino and English) * The academic rating will be considered is the pupil's Final grade in Filipino and English 3. SPECIAL RECOGNITION * Learners who have won in competitions at the district, division, regional, national or international * These awards have demonstrated their exemplary performance in academics, athletics, and arts represented the school in Deped -recognized activities. + The actual certificates, medals, trophies or plaques received by the learners from various activity shalll be used to publicly affirm and acknowledge the contribution of the awardees in giving honor to the school. These awards are designed to recognize the commendable performance of teachers within the school year 2. All teachers who have met the qualifications , standards and criteria set by the policy shall receive recognition. 3. There can be two (2) recipients of any award . However , should there be no qualified individual, the award will not be given. 4. A teacher must acquire and/or follow the set criteria presented below to be nominated in any award. 5. The PRAISE committee led by the school head will evaluate the performance and qualifications of ‘each teacher for any award. 6. The committee’s decision are final and irrevocable. Awards to be given: 1, LEADERSHIP AWARD Given to an individual with excellent leadership abilities and for motivating everyone to produce remarkable results in any activity. ‘To qualify for this award, a teacher must ¥ Have not committed any offense or violation punishable by suspension of any higher sanction in the current school year. BEST CLASSROOM AWARD Given to a class adviser who show genuine care and attention to the assigned classroom. Through the Department of Education's (DepEd) Order No. 36, s. 2016 entitled Policy Guidelines on Awards and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, awards given are designed to formally recognize the outstanding performance and achievement in support of the holistic development of the Filipino leamers. Furthermore, the giving of awards and recognition is but one of the many way by which teachers and schools provide students with positive feedback and affirmation, which can improve the learner's confidence, self-awareness, and enthusiasm for learning. This creates a positive classroom climate that supports the well-being and achievement of all students. Being one with DepEd, Calanan Elementary School conducted quarterly recognition of leamers who excelled in the class. OBJECTIVES: 1. Facilitate the giving of awards to leamers in recognition of the learner's outstanding performance in the grades 1- 6 classes 2. Coordinate with the school head and co-teachers regarding the giving of ‘awards . 3. Document highlights on the recognition day ‘A. WHAT WAS EXPECTED TO HAPPEN? 1. Itwas expected for the activity fo be meaningful, appropriately solemn, and finish on-schedule. (quarterly supposed to be) 2. Respective advisers are expected to recognize the learners who deserve to be given awards and announce it in the class. 3. Teachers were expected to give certificate of recognition per quarter, 4. All awardees will be given certificates during the recognition day (closing exercises) B, WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED? iS Teacher advisers announced only the top pupils in the class after each quarter from the first to third quarter. Teacher advisers announced and gave certificates to deserving honor pupils after the fourth quarter. They did the awarding in their own classes. The Final awarding of Certificates of Recognition to honor pupils were done during the Recognition Day (Certificates and Ribbons were given) C. WHAT WENT WELL? ih 2: All class advisers prepared the certificates for their honor pupils ( Fourth quarter and final). Ribbons of all honor pupils were taken care by the school, they were ordered to the suppliers. The master of ceremony was able to execute the program smoothly and without delays thus finishing the program on schedule. The activity after care was done after the program with the help of the parents . D. WHAT CAN BE IMPROVED . Teacher advisers should coordinate with each other and plan fo have the quarterly recognition day even just after Flag Ceremony . Encourage more parents fo accompany their children who have awards for the Final recognition day. REPORT ON OTHER AWARDS: iB ‘Awards were also given to the pupils who gamered the first place in the School Competition, such as the school festival of Talents which included Tie dye, Poster Making contest, AP quiz, Read a Thon, Techno-quiz, Draw and Tell, and even Sports activities. It was also agreed upon by the advisers / PRAISE members that those who excel in the District , Division or higher level were recognized during the closing ‘exercises (Recognition Day) 3.
