M-200 DATE: 10/26/04

PAGE: 1 OF 3

ECO: 22945

DESCRIPTION:
The Smith Services Millennium Packer is a permanent seal bore packer. This tool is trimmed with
carbide button slips and an improved element system for reliable service. This packer is available
with optional elastomers for service temperatures up to 450oF and/or hostile environments.

APPLICATION:
The standard configuration Millennium Permanent Packer is rated for 10,000 psi pressure
differential at 350oF. This packer was designed to be used with high pressure, high volume
production, injection, disposal, or hostile wells. Its short length allows for easy wireline runs in
deviated wells.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

v 10,000 psi differential pressure @ 350oF

v Wireline, hydraulic, or coiled tubing setting

v One-piece carbide slips minimize casing damage and hold in high strength casing grades

v Lower slips are attached to the packer using a threaded connection to prevent premature set
while runing into the hole

v 350oF standard, higher temperature elements are available upon request

v Uses standard M-II Anchor Seal Assemblies

v Available with various bottom sub configurations for compatibility with all completion acceso-
ries

SETTING: DATE: 10/26/04

PAGE: 2 OF 3
Select the appropriate wireline adapter kit and make it
up with the pressure setting assembly as instructed in
the tech. unit for the adapter kit. Slide the setting sleeve
over the top of the setting assembly and lock it in place
above the latch by using the set screws in the top of the
sleeve.
Make-up the packer on the latch until it shoulders out,
and then back off the packer 1/4 to a 1/2 turn. Loosen the
set screws holding the setting sleeve in place and slide
the sleeve down until the threads of the sleeve engage
the threads of the adjuster nut. Screw the sleeve down
until it shoulders out on the packer. Tighten the sleeve
slightly.
Make-up the firing head with the pressure setting
assembly.
Carefully tail the packer assembly up into the derrick and
start it into the well. When the setting depth is reached
set the packer and retrieve the pressure setting assembly
and wireline adapter kit.

NOTE: Do not run over 175 ft./min. If there is a

low fluid level slow down when entering the fluid.
Make-up the seal assembly with the tubing string and run
within one joint of the packer. Slowly turn the tubing to the
right as the seal assembly is lowered into the packer bore.
Push the seals all the way into the packer and then pull
5,000-10,000 lbs. tension over string weight to ensure
the seal assembly is latched in place. Release the seal
assembly by pulling (1,000 lbs.) and turning the string 13
turns to the right (at the tool). Space out the tubing string
and re-latch the seal assembly into the packer leaving
the appropriate amount of force on the packer.
