Activities
Correctly pronounce the CPA “a”, “o”, “e” by imitating the recording
Correctly identify and produce the four tones and neutral tone by repeating the recording
Compose simple greetings by using the newly learned words and sentence pattern
REVIEW:
Define the following:
a. Hanyu
b. Hanzi
c. Pinyin
PRONUNCIATION:
The student will do the pronunciation drills of the following finals: a, o, e.
Introduction
After learning the pronunciation of the three letters a, o and e, the students will learn about the 4 tones and
neutral tone in Chinese Mandarin.

The students will then practice the tones of the three letters discussed earlier.
C. The students were previously assigned to learn basic Mandarin words. Based on their own understanding,
they will identify the correct pinyin for the given hanzi.
The students will then identify the correct meaning of the given pinyin and hanzi by matching column A with
column B.
Engagement
After learning the meaning of the basic Mandarin words, the students will be introduced to the different
greetings that use the said given words/pingyin. They will also identify the English meaning of the pingyin
greetings.
