throughout the Padlet watching the videos, responding to questions, and taking a quiz to better
understand the life cycle of a plant (pumpkin). Students will stay focused on tasks during this
assignment because there are multiple short activities that should be easy to complete because all
resources are in the Padlet. I will access students’ prior knowledge as they learn by comparing the
life cycle of a pumpkin to the life cycle of a plant. I will provide authentic real-world tasks to
motivate the learners by bringing in a pumpkin and allowing students to observe it in real time. I will
conclude the lesson by assessing the students in a online quiz located in the Padlet and allowing
them to create their own life cycle Padlet presentation.
Managing student learning:
This tool will promote active learning as students are able to connect and share personal knowledge
or experience of the topic in a discussion. While also responding and actively learning within each
task presented in Padlet. Students will be able to work in class with set timers to promote time
management and limit distractions.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): It supports The Universal Design for Learning by allowing
student engagement because students will be able to collaborate and engage with other classmates
observing the pumpkin and relating it to the plant life cycle. It also will enhance the action and
expression because students will be using digital tools for learning, responding, and seeing what
their peers have said.
Reflective Practice:
After Designing this lesson plan students will be able to comprehend the lesson more rather than
using the additional tools because the students were able to work throughout the Padlet that was
accommodated for all learning needs. Students are allowed to create something that gives them
their own voice. They will be more successful when they are familiar and comfortable with designing
and creating things their own way. It allows for the students to learn in an Active way so they can
connect or relate to the material.
