The purpose of this method of statement is about bending, cutting and fixing of steel rebar and it will cover minimum requirement for the steel rebar work at all project
sites.

Method of Statement (MOS)

Project :
Project/Construction Manager
Project/Construction Manager will be responsible: -
➢ Overall implementation and monitoring of all the activities
in the method of statement of steel rebar/reinforcement works.

. Site Engineer
The Site engineer will be responsible: -
➢ Directly involved in the planning and execution of the activities involved in the steel rebar/reinforcement works
➢ Preparation of the bar bending schedule,
➢ Safety action plan and safe work plan,
➢ Application for work permits, if required prior to commence steel rebar/reinforcement works.
QA/QC Engineer
QA/QC Engineer will be responsible: -
➢ Monitoring tests to be carried out as per the approved ITP.
➢ Coordinating with the independent testing laboratory for the testing.
➢ Check steel rebar work as per approved ITP & IFC drawing.
Foremen
Foremen will be responsible: -
➢ Direct execution of works involve in the steel rebar/reinforcement
works according to the plan.
➢ Directly control and give instruction to the working personnel.
➢ Ensure that works are performed with proper tools/equipment, PPE’s and good housekeeping around the working area.
HSE engineer/Supervisor
Safety engineer / Supervisor will be responsible: -
➢ Review prior to the start of the work Safe Work Plan and work permit,
➢ If required a submittal to client/customer that must be implemented and
observed during the steel rebar/reinforcement works.
6. PROCEDURE
Method of Statement (MOS)
Rebar-reinforcement
Project :
➢ Quality Inspection Plan (QIP) specific to project requirements shall be made and inspection activities shall be recorded either on Alfanar formats or provided by
client/customer
➢ Reinforcing steel rebar shall be as per the PTS or relevant standards and
Specification.
➢ Ensure that only tested/approved grade of steel bars are as per project specification.
➢ Rebar shall be free from loose mill scale and rust free prior to placement in position.
➢ Rebar shall be stacked properly on the ground on the wooden runner and covered with plastic sheet or fiber cloth.
➢ Bar bending schedule based on the IFC drawing shall be produced. Cutting and
bending of rebar shall be carried out as per approved bar bending schedule.
➢ Binding wire shall be free from rust & conform to the PTS.
➢ Cut lengths shall be grouped with respect to their mark numbers by putting tags for identification and shifted accordingly from steel yard to working site or
location.
➢ Rebar spacing shall be marked with chalk according to the IFC drawings or as per approved
bar bending schedule
➢ Rebar network shall be properly fixed with approved binding wire.
➢ Chairs shall be provided at proper intervals to support the rebar network.
➢ Lap lengths shall be provided as per IFC drawings or approved bar bending
Schedule.
➢ Place reinforcement as per correct size and spacing. Position, support and secure
reinforcement against displacement using approved pre-cast concrete blocks or
PVC chairs.
➢ All reinforcement fabrication shall be carried out by qualified craftsmen/Steel fixer.
➢ In case of non-conformity at any stage of inspection the segregation shall be covered by method statement and Corrective Action Request (CAR) shall be raised as
per client/customer laid down procedure
