Rebar-reinforcement

Issue Date : 2018-06-05 Issue : 1 Rev. No : 0 Ref. No : MOS-CVL-15

Project :

➢ Quality Inspection Plan (QIP) specific to project requirements shall be made and inspection activities shall be recorded either on Alfanar formats or provided by
client/customer
➢ Reinforcing steel rebar shall be as per the PTS or relevant standards and
Specification.
➢ Ensure that only tested/approved grade of steel bars are as per project specification.
➢ Rebar shall be free from loose mill scale and rust free prior to placement in position.
➢ Rebar shall be stacked properly on the ground on the wooden runner and covered with plastic sheet or fiber cloth.
➢ Bar bending schedule based on the IFC drawing shall be produced. Cutting and
bending of rebar shall be carried out as per approved bar bending schedule.
➢ Binding wire shall be free from rust & conform to the PTS.
➢ Cut lengths shall be grouped with respect to their mark numbers by putting tags for identification and shifted accordingly from steel yard to working site or
location.
➢ Rebar spacing shall be marked with chalk according to the IFC drawings or as per approved
bar bending schedule
➢ Rebar network shall be properly fixed with approved binding wire.
➢ Chairs shall be provided at proper intervals to support the rebar network.
➢ Lap lengths shall be provided as per IFC drawings or approved bar bending
Schedule.
➢ Place reinforcement as per correct size and spacing. Position, support and secure
reinforcement against displacement using approved pre-cast concrete blocks or
PVC chairs.
➢ All reinforcement fabrication shall be carried out by qualified craftsmen/Steel fixer.
➢ In case of non-conformity at any stage of inspection the segregation shall be covered by method statement and Corrective Action Request (CAR) shall be raised as
per client/customer laid down procedure
