III. Procedure
A. Preparation
1. Drill
Answer each division equation for you to enter the house.
2. Review/Recall
A. Recall the steps in dividing whole numbers.
Step 1. Divide the first digit of the dividend by the divisor. If the divisor is larger than the first digit of
the dividend, divide the first two digits of the dividend by the divisor, and so on.
Step 2. Write the quotient above the dividend.
Step 3. Multiply the quotient by the divisor and write the product under the dividend.
Step 4. Subtract that product from the dividend.
Step 5. Bring down the next digit of the dividend.
Step 6. Repeat from Step 1 until there are no more digits in the dividend to bring down.
Step 7. Check by multiplying the quotient times the divisor.
3. Motivation
a. Do you have things that you really need to buy?
b. What do you do to buy these things?
c. Why it is important to save?
B. Presentation
A. I DO STAGE
Present the Lesson - Dividing Whole Numbers by Decimals Up to 1 Decimal Place.
Based on the solution, Aling Irma can make 30 pillowcases out of 21 meters of cotton cloth.
Example No.2
Step 1. To divide whole number by a decimal number, change the divisor to a whole number by
moving the decimal point going to the right.
15 √ 18
Step 2: Then move the decimal point in the dividend the same decimal places as in the divisor, you will
need to add one or more zeros. Then divide the number.
