A. PROJECT TITLE / SUB-TITLE

MAJOR PLATE NO. 01

LEVEL 3 Hospital

B. BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM

A hospital is an institution providing treatment and care for the sick, and it has long been present for most countries
around the world. According to the World Health Organization, "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social
well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity". Developing countries, lack adequate healthcare facilities,
equipment, or staff to handle the needs of its community. Hence, people in these areas are not able to receive the benefits
of modern medicine, and they usually have lower life expectancies. Apart from that, they are also used as a setting for
education of doctors, nurses and other health-care experts.

During the past years, our country's healthcare service has improved significantly, and we currently have three accredited
level three hospitals in the Region, one in Bataan, Pampanga and Tarlac. But because of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-
19) pandemic, health emergency response was prioritized and revealed a lot of weakness in the Philippine hospital system.
Therefore, the design problem calls for a not only well-designed but also “pandemic resilient” Level 3 Hospital that will
provide healthcare to the residents of Region III.

C. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The undertaking aims to provide a facility that will be located on any area in Region III. An adequate lot area shall be
provided by the designer to accommodate all the required spaces of a Level 3 Hospital. Because of this a space program
can be used to ease the selection of site.

D. SPACE REQUIREMENTS

 (Refer to the DOH Checklist for Review Floor Plans of Level 3 Hospital)
 Include other spaces that the designer thinks is necessary.

materials used, levels of structures, and color coding of the zones. See Annex.

Site Section
 Provide Two (2) Cross & Longitudinal Site Elevation, showing the major buildings, major roads, or areas that will
showcase your design solutions.
 Indicate the callouts of materials used, levels of structures (Ground Floor Line, Second Floor Line, etc.), and natural
ground line (NGL).

Exterior Perspectives (at least Two (2) Views)

 Show the entire site using the largest scale to fit the paper.

Blow-up Plan, Blow-up Elevation and Interior Perspective
