It is desired to study the characteristics of a dice throwing experiment. Therefore, you will have to
make 40 throws for two and three dice of six faces each respectively; you can make the throws
using ordinary dice or, if you wish, you can use a simulator of this type, which can be found in the
web page : https://dado.online/.

1. How should the data in this experiment be treated, as a sample or a population? Explain
your answer.
A: We use the type of measure of population dispersion since those who are asking us to take the
40 throws of 2 dice, 3 dice and review the results.
2. What do the values found for variance and standard deviation mean?
A: Indicates the various possible outcomes when rolling the 40 dice
3. What do you think the word "dispersion" means when talking about the variance and
standard deviation values found?
A: The different types of results tell us how equal or different the results can be.
4. In which of the experiments performed, are the variance and standard deviation values
found to be higher, is this a result to be expected? Explain your answer.

Rta: It is greater in the 3 dice, since there are more possibilities of results, if it is as expected since
the table represents increase of possibilities in each roll.
5. According to your answer in the previous number, would the same thing happen if the
experiment is performed with one die, how about with four dice? Show your procedure.
Answer: If the same thing happens with 1 die and with 4 dice, we get the same results.

Rta: the significance is less the coefficient of variation is less than deviation and is compared with
