Augusto Polo Campos was a renowned Peruvian composer and musician. He was born in Lima
in 1932 and began playing the guitar at a young age. He wrote his first song, "Y se llama Perú,"
in 1953, which became an instant success. Polo Campos went on to write many popular
Peruvian songs, such as "Contigo Perú" and "Cuando llora mi guitarra," which are still widely
known and loved today. He passed away in 2018 at the age of 85.
