IMPORTANT NORMAL PROCEDURES (SIMPLIFIED)

This checklist is designed for a efficient operation flow for one pilot, but I tried to keep PREFLIGHT INSPECTION
it as close as possible to the real procedures. The procedures are intentionally
simplified in some regards, to make this guide accessible for beginners. Fuel/Load-Manager SET
Making these checklists has become very time consuming for me. So if you really

Die Checkliste ist für einen effizienten Bedienungs Flow für einen Piloten gemacht,
aber ich versuche immer so dicht wie möglich an den realen Prozeduren zu bleiben.

Alternator Check PERFORM
STARTING THE ENGINE - continued - Left Alternator → OFF
HOT START - verify L ALT Annunciator Light = ON
Right Engine START - verify L ALT Load = ZERO
Propeller Lever HIGH RPM (full fwd) - Right Alternator → OFF
Mixture CUT-OFF - verify R ALT Annunciator Light = ON
Throttle FULL OPEN - verify R ALT Load = ZERO
Fuel Boost Pump HI, 20 - 30 seconds, then OFF - Left Alternator → ON
Mixture FULL RICH - verify L ALT Annunciator Light = OFF
Fuel Boost Pump HI, 2-3 seconds, then OFF - verify L ALT Load min. 10 A
Throttle ½ INCH OPEN - Right Alternator → ON
Ignition Switch START, when Engine fires → BOTH - verify R ALT Annunciator Light = OFF
Throttle ~ 1.000 RPM - verify R ALT Load min. 10 A
Engine Instruments CHECK Propeller De-Ice Test PERFORM
Bus Volts verify ~ 28 V - Prop De-Ice → ON
Left Engine START - verify Prop Amps 20 - 25A and cycling
- Prop DE-ICE → OFF
FLOODED ENGINE Windshield Heat Test PERFORM
Right Engine START - Windshield Heat → ON
Propeller Lever HIGH RPM (full fwd) - verify WSHLD HEAT Annunciator Light = ON
Mixture CUT-OFF - verify Ammeters increased
Throttle ½ INCH OPEN - Windshield Heat → OFF
Ignition Switch START, when Engine fires → BOTH Heater Switches Test PERFORM
Mixture FULL RICH - Left Pitot Heat Switch → ON
Throttle ~ 1.000 RPM - verify PITOT HEAT Annunciator Light = ON
Engine Instruments CHECK - verify Ammeters increased
Bus Volts verify ~ 28 V - Right Pitot Heat Switch → ON
Left Engine START - verify Ammeters increased
- Fuel Vent Heat Switch → ON
- verify Ammeters increased
AFTER STARTING ENGINES / BEFORE TAXI - Stall Warning Heat Switch → ON
- verify Ammeters increased
Annunciators CHECK & CONSIDER - all 4 Heater Switches → OFF
Avionics Master ON Surface DE-ICE Test PERFORM
Altimeter SET LOCAL - Surface De-Ice Switch → MANUAL (hold)
STBY Altimeter SET - verify Boot Pressure = 15 - 20 psi
STBY Attitude Indicator SET - verify BOOT PRESS Annunciator = ON
Remote Compass Slaved & Aligned - Surface De-Ice Switch → AUTO
Com Radios SET - verify Boot Pressure = 15 - 20 psi
Garmin/Nav Radios SET - verify cycling
Weather Radar STBY - Surface De-Ice Switch → OFF
Cabin Air & Heat AS DES
Air Conditioning AS DES Pressurization System Check PERFORM
Flight Controls FREE & FULL MOVEMENT - Throttle → 2.000 RPM
BKSQ Failure Menu (Weather Radar) SET AS DES - verify Cabin Altitude = Field Elevation
- verify Cabin Differential Press = ZERO
ATC Clearance (Taxi) AS REQ - Cabin Climb Rate → 10 o´clock
- Cabin Altutide Preselect → 1.000 ft below Field Elevation
Taxi Lights ON - Cabin Door Seal Mode → PRESS (up)
Transponder SET & STBY - Cabin Press Mode → PRESS (up)
Mixture LEAN FOR TAXI - Cabin Press Test → HOLD
- verify Cabin Press, Diff & Rate = Descent
TAXI - Cabin Press Mode → DUMP
- Door Seal Mode → OFF (down)
- release PARKING BRAKE - Cabin Altitude Preselect → first desired Altitude
- taxi very slowly Throttles 1.000 - 1.200 RPM
- test BRAKES during taxi Flaps verify Operation
Electric Trim EXERCISE
RUNUP Autopilot Test PERFORM
Parking Brake SET - HDG Bug → 30° Left
- Autopilot Master → ENGAGE
Mixture FULL RICH
- HDG Mode → ENGAGE
Propeller Levers HIGH RPM (full fwd)
Throttle 1.700 RPM - verify Yoke Movement & Flight Director Bank Left
- HDG Bug → 30° Right
- verify Yoke Movement & Flight Director Bank Left
Propeller Exercise PERFORM
- Autopilot → DISENGAGE
- exercise each Propeller Lever to a 300 RPM Drop
Magneto Check PERFORM - Flight Director → DISENGAGE
- Magnetos → LEFT → BOTH → RIGHT → BOTH
- verify max. 150 RPM Drop & max. 50 RPM Difference

AUTOPILOT QUICK GUIDE

NOTES
- to disengage the Autopilot - use the DISENGAGE Button on the
Yoke
- to disengage the Flight Director - push the DISENGAGE Button
on the Yoke a second time

ALTITUDE CHANGE

- preselect Altitude - turn outer & inner Knob (a)


- press ENG Button (b)
- push Knob (a)
- select Vertical Speed - turn outer & inner Knob (a)
or select Vertical Speed with Rocker Switch (c)
- engage Autopilot (d) if not already

HEADING MODE

- set Heading Bug (a)


- select HDG Mode (b)
- engage Autopilot (c) if not already

GPS FLIGHTPLAN

- set NAV Source to GPS - with Button (a)


or use Garmin CDI Button
- select NAV Mode (b)
- engage Autopilot (c) if not already

ILS LANDING

- set ILS Frequency in NAV Radio 1


- set NAV Source to NAV - with Button (a)
or use Garmin CDI Button (VLOC)
- select APR Mode (b)
