ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON SCHOOL BASED MANAGEMENT (SBM)

2022-2023
Introduction:

This narrative report aims to provide an overview and assessment of the School-Based Management (SBM) program
implemented in Mariao Anoy Sangay Integrated School during the 2022-2023 academic year. SBM is a
decentralization policy implemented by the Department of Education (DepEd) in order to empower schools to make
decisions that will benefit their students and improve the quality of education. XYZ Elementary School has been
implementing SBM since 2015, and this report will highlight the school's progress, challenges faced, and
recommendations for improvement.

Implementation and Progress:

During the academic year, Mariano Anoy Sangay Integrated School successfully implemented several components of
SBM. The school formed a School Governing Council (SGC) composed of teachers, parents, community members,
and school administrators. This inclusive composition ensured that all stakeholders had a voice in decision-making
processes. The SGC met regularly to discuss various school matters, such as the allocation of budgets, curriculum
enhancement, and the implementation of various programs.

One of the key achievements of Mariano Anoy Sangay Integrated School under SBM was the improvement in
student performance. With the increased autonomy given to the school, teachers were able to design and
implement innovative teaching methods and strategies that catered to the needs of their students. As a result, the
school saw an increase in student engagement and academic achievement. Standardized test scores and overall
student performance improved significantly compared to previous years. This positive outcome can be attributed to
the teachers' dedication, collaboration, and their ability to adapt to the changing needs of their students.

Challenges:

Despite the success and progress made, Mariano Anoy Sangay Integrated School also faced several challenges in
implementing the SBM program. One of the main challenges was the lack of training and capacity-building programs
for teachers and parents posed a challenge to the effective implementation of SBM. While the school provided some
training workshops, there was a need for more comprehensive and ongoing training programs to equip teachers and
parents with the necessary skills and knowledge to actively participate in the decision-making process.

Conclusion:

Overall, Mariano Anoy Sangay Integrated School has made significant progress in implementing the SBM program.
The increased autonomy and collaborative decision-making processes have positively impacted student
performance. However, certain challenges, such as limited funding and the need for capacity-building, need to be
addressed to further enhance the program's effectiveness. With the necessary support and improvements, SBM can
continue to empower schools and improve the quality of education for all students.
