TOPIC: BARANGAY PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURES

I. Rationale Good Governance is observed when the

lawmakers, local legislative bodies and the
smallest unit of the society, are not only
knowledgeable of the law but, most importantly,
know how to participate in the local legislative
processes in addressing the needs of the
community they serve. Capacitating the local
legislators through the conduct of lecture program
will improve community legislative practices that
will redound to the benefit of the citizens.
It is with these reasons that the MPA
students of Cor Jesu College initiated the conduct
of Community Engagement on the topic Barangay
Parliamentary Procedures where the Barangay
Officials of Saliducon, Sta.Cruz, Davao del Sur
were the target participants.
II. Objectives  It helps carry out the legislative
body’s objectives effectively
 It simplifies & systematizes the conduct of
business
 It enables the legislative assembly (Sanggunian)
to make fast& valid decisions
 It maintains decorum for smooth transaction of
business
 It determines the will of the majority
 It reconciles conflicting opinions of members
